The Washington Capitals and Boston Bruins are sitting atop their respective divisions and own the two best records in hockey, but the series is shockingly one-sided since the start of the 2014 season. The NHL-leading Capitals have won 15 of the last 16 meetings and look to extend that success when they host the slumping Bruins on Wednesday night.

The Montreal Canadiens have recovered nicely from an eight-game winless stretch with strong defense and will try to continue the trend when the Atlantic Division rival Ottawa Senators visit Wednesday night. The Canadiens were 0-5-3 during their prolonged slump, but allowed seven goals while winning three of the past four games after a 4-1 victory at Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

The Philadelphia Flyers improved to 7-1-1 in their last outing, but the victory came with a substantial loss as Travis Konecny sustained a concussion that has him sidelined indefinitely. The Flyers look to overcome the absence of their leading scorer on Wednesday when they open a three-game road trip against the Colorado Avalanche.
