Preview Roundups
December 03, 2019
Carolina at Boston 7:00 PM ET
The Boston Bruins rode a four-game sweep of the Carolina Hurricanes to reach the Stanley Cup Finals last season and they again look like the team to beat in the Eastern Conference. The NHL's only team without a regulation loss at home (11-0-4), Boston puts its seven-game winning streak on the line versus the visiting Hurricanes on Tuesday night.
NY Islanders at Montreal 7:00 PM ET
The Montreal Canadiens look to rebound from another frustrating defeat and snap an eight-game losing streak when they return home Tuesday night to take on the surging New York Islanders. The Canadiens, who are 0-5-3 during their slide, blanked red-hot Boston for 46-plus minutes Sunday before giving up three third-period goals in a span of 7:11 for a 3-1 road loss.
Minnesota at Florida 7:00 PM ET
The Minnesota Wild answered a stretch of playing 13 of their first 18 contests on the road by recording at least a point in nine straight games (6-0-3). The Wild bid for their fourth win in a row on Tuesday when they open a three-game road trip against the Florida Panthers.
Vegas at New Jersey 7:00 PM ET
The Vegas Golden Knights try for their fourth straight victory when they visit the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday. Vegas, which has been without No. 1 goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury during the streak, opened its three-game swing through the greater New York City area with a 4-1 victory over the Rangers on Monday behind a pair of goals from Alex Tuch that gave the Golden Knights their first three-game winning streak of the season.
Toronto at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
The Philadelphia Flyers savored the flavor of a November to remember, recording an NHL-best 24 points (10-2-4) to boost their season total to 35 entering December for the first time since the Hockey Hall of Famer Eric Lindros-led team in 1995-96. The Flyers vie for their fifth consecutive victory on Tuesday when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Arizona at Columbus 7:00 PM ET
The Columbus Blue Jackets are nearly one-third of the way into the season and have been unable to generate any consistency, as evidenced by 17 one-goal games in their first 26. Columbus is starting to play better at Nationwide Arena and will go for its sixth victory in its last seven games at home against the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday night.
Tampa Bay at Nashville 8:00 PM ET
Teams who were expected to compete for a Stanley Cup when the season began, but are still seeking consistency, meet Tuesday night as the Tampa Bay Lightning visit the Nashville Predators. The Predators, who own at least a point in 12 straight games in the series (10-0-2), saw their four-game point streak end with a 3-0 loss at Florida on Saturday and the Lightning have followed a 6-2-0 run with three consecutive one-goal losses, including Saturday’s 3-2 setback against Carolina.
Dallas at Winnipeg 8:00 PM ET
The Winnipeg Jets host the Dallas Stars on Tuesday in a meeting of foes who look to continue their outstanding play from November in a very competitive Central Division. The Stars went 10-2-1 last month while the Jets finished 10-3-1, and they are tied for third in the division behind only St. Louis and Colorado after splitting a pair of November matchups.
Ottawa at Vancouver 10:00 PM ET
The Vancouver Canucks had some rocky moments during their recently concluded six-game road trip but still managed to come away with a split despite a pair of crushing defeats. The Canucks have also endured some shaky moments at Rogers Arena over the past four weeks and look to reverse the trend against the visiting Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night.
Washington at San Jose 10:30 PM ET
The San Jose Sharks limped out of the blocks to start the season before getting up to speed in a hurry, winning 11 of their last 13 games to tie a franchise record for the most victories in November. The Sharks hope to carry over that success to December when they host the Washington Capitals on Tuesday.
