Preview Roundups
November 12, 2019
Florida at Boston 7:00 PM ET
The Boston Bruins are mired in a season-worst three-game losing streak after ripping off six consecutive victories, but they are the only team in the league that has yet to suffer a regulation defeat on home ice. The Bruins will look to bring an end to one streak while keeping the other intact when they host the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night.
Columbus at Montreal 7:00 PM ET
The Montreal Canadiens have earned points in six of their last seven games and will try to take advantage of another struggling opponent to keep the momentum going. The Canadiens look to extend their winning streak at home to four games when they host the slumping Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night in the first of three matchups between the teams this season.
Pittsburgh at NY Rangers 7:30 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Penguins have been plagued by numerous injuries to several high-profile players this season, ranging from former Hart Trophy recipient Evgeni Malkin to the now red-hot Bryan Rust. The Penguins will once again experience life without superstar captain Sidney Crosby on Tuesday when they visit the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
Arizona at St. Louis 8:00 PM ET
The St. Louis Blues have felt quite comfortable in tight games the last three weeks and the reigning Stanley Cup champions look to extend their winning streak to eight when they host the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday night. The Blues have won six times during their run by one goal, including five in overtime, after David Perron scored 2:46 into the extra session to beat Calgary 3-2 on Saturday.
Colorado at Winnipeg 8:00 PM ET
The Colorado Avalanche have steadied themselves with back-to-back victories entering Tuesday’s opener of a five-game road trip at the Winnipeg Jets, and rookie defenseman Cale Makar continues providing an offensive boost. The 21-year-old entered Monday leading all NHL rookies with 17 points and 13 assists, and his two goals in Saturday’s 4-2 home victory over Columbus gave Maker three tallies and three assists during his current three-game point streak.
Nashville at Vancouver 10:00 PM ET
The Vancouver Canucks faced little resistance in unleashing their offense, riding high during a 9-1-2 stretch before mustering a total of five goals during their season-high four-game losing streak (0-3-1). The Canucks look to rebound from their first regulation setback at Rogers Arena when they continue their four-game homestand against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday.
Detroit at Anaheim 10:00 PM ET
The Anaheim Ducks had hoped to capitalized on a favorable portion of the schedule and make a move up the Pacific Division standings, but the team is trending in the wrong direction with two to play on their seven-game homestand. The struggling Ducks seek to avoid a season-worst fourth consecutive defeat when they host the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night.
Minnesota at Los Angeles 10:30 PM ET
The Minnesota Wild will conclude a pronounced road stretch to begin their season on Tuesday night when they visit the Los Angeles Kings. The Wild, who skated to a 5-1 home win over the Kings on Oct. 26, will be playing their 13th road game in 18 outings to start the campaign.
Edmonton at San Jose 10:30 PM ET
Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl hope to continue their scoring onslaught against one of the league’s most generous defenses when the Edmonton Oilers visit the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday in a Pacific Division battle. McDavid notched his fifth career hat trick and Draisaitl added four assists, extending his point streak to nine games and taking over the league lead with 34 points, in Sunday’s 6-2 victory at Anaheim.
