Preview Roundups
February 27, 2019
Maryland at Penn St. 6:30 PM ET
Anthony Cowan Jr. has stepped up his game in the last two outings and Maryland has followed suit, winning both to vault into fourth place in the ultra-competitive Big Ten Conference. The 20th-ranked Terrapins look to strengthen their hold on a potential double bye in the conference tournament on Wednesday when they visit Penn State in their last road game of the regular season.
Tennessee at Mississippi 7:00 PM ET
Seventh-ranked Tennessee looks to keep pace in its quest for the SEC regular-season title, after losing twice in the last three games, when they pay a visit to dangerous Ole Miss on Wednesday night. The Volunteers were routed at No. 4 Kentucky and lost in overtime at No. 14 LSU on consecutive Saturdays to fall into a tie with those two for first place in the league to start the week.
Clemson at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
Clemson shoots for a second consecutive win as it visits rebuilding Pittsburgh on Wednesday evening. The Tigers are coming off a win over Boston College on Saturday, while the Panthers will be hoping to snap a 10-game losing streak.
Georgia Tech at Virginia 7:00 PM ET
Virginia shoots for its fifth straight win as it hosts struggling Georgia Tech on Wednesday evening. The Cavaliers are coming off back-to-back road wins over ranked teams and are now tied with Duke as the No. 2 team in the nation.
DePaul at Georgetown 7:00 PM ET
Georgetown will begin its final homestand of the season Wednesday with the first of two Big East games in a span of a week against DePaul. The Hoyas, unable to build off last week's upset of Villanova, are long shot to make the NCAA Tournament but still have a chance to win 20 games provided they beat the Blue Demons twice.
Oklahoma State at Texas Tech 7:00 PM ET
No. 11 Texas Tech demolished 16th-ranked Kansas on Saturday, perhaps putting an end to the Jayhawks' 14-year stranglehold on the Big 12 regular-season title. The Red Raiders, sitting all alone in second place and just one-half game behind conference leader Kansas State, hope to continue their surge to the top Wednesday when they host Oklahoma State.
Houston at East Carolina 7:00 PM ET

Sixth-ranked Houston aims for its 12th consecutive win and looks to maintain its one-game lead in the American Athletic Conference standings when it visits East Carolina on Wednesday. The Cougars rolled to a 94-50 home victory over the Pirates on Jan. 23 and has captured seven straight meetings.

Central Florida at South Florida 7:00 PM ET
Central Florida and South Florida meet up on Wednesday evening for their second matchup in two weeks, this time at the home of the Bulls. The Knights have dominated the War On I-4 and are seeking their eighth straight victory -- and fourth straight sweep -- over their intrastate rivals after taking this season's first encounter 78-65.
Illinois at Purdue 8:30 PM ET
If No. 12 Purdue can avoid a slip-up Wednesday night at home and beat Illinois, there will be a two-way tie atop the Big Ten standings with three games to go. Purdue, which trails Michigan State by a half-game, has won its last three contests overall, three straight in the series and six in a row against Illinois at Mackey Arena.
Florida at Vanderbilt 9:00 PM ET
With a season-long four-game winning streak, including a come-from-behind 64-60 triumph over Missouri on Saturday, Florida put itself back into the NCAA Tournament picture. The Gators now look to maintain momentum as they head to Vanderbilt, where they have lost four in a row, for a Wednesday night matchup.
Auburn at Georgia 9:00 PM ET
Auburn will try to improve its NCAA Tournament prospects and tune up for the final stretch of the SEC regular season when it visits struggling Georgia on Wednesday. The Tigers are coming off an 80-53 loss at No. 4 Kentucky on Saturday and were 23rd in the NET rankings - a position that appears to be good enough to get them in the Big Dance.
Texas at Baylor 9:00 PM ET
Baylor will be looking for redemption on Wednesday when it hosts Texas, which snapped the Bears' six-game winning streak on Feb. 6 with an 84-72 victory. With leading scorer Kerwin Roach II (15 points per game) out of the lineup on Saturday, the Longhorns nearly erased a 17-point, second-half deficit against Oklahoma but fell just short in a 69-67 defeat.
Louisville at Boston College 9:00 PM ET
Louisville has stumbled after a sizzling start in conference play, partly due to a killer schedule during the month of February and partly due to an alarming inability to protect sizable leads. The 24th-ranked Cardinals have dropped two games in a row and four of their last five entering Wednesday night's ACC road matchup against Boston College.
Marquette at Villanova 9:00 PM ET
The defending national champions are learning how to battle adversity -- and Wednesday might be their toughest challenge yet. Riding a three-game losing streak, Villanova hosts No. 9 Marquette with the Wildcats in desperate need of a Big East victory.
Cincinnati at Southern Methodist 9:00 PM ET
Cincinnati has not enjoyed a comfortable victory in more than a month so the No. 22 Bearcats look to make things easier on themselves when they visit struggling SMU on Wednesday night for an American Athletic Conference contest. Second-place Cincinnati has won three in a row and 11 of the last 12 contests - seven by five points or fewer, including a 73-68 win over SMU - after surviving a scare at Connecticut with a 64-60 triumph Sunday.
UNLV at Nevada 11:00 PM ET
Nevada has a chance to tie its school record for consecutive home victories of 18 if it can win its final two Mountain West contests at the Lawlor Events Center. But to do that the 13th-ranked Wolf Pack will have to first get by the last team to defeat them in Reno, in-state rival UNLV on Wednesday night.
