Preview Roundups
February 06, 2019
Connecticut at Temple 6:00 PM ET
Connecticut has taken advantage of a soft schedule in recent weeks but will likely face a stiffer test Wednesday. The Huskies seek their fourth win in five games when they visit Temple in American Athletic Conference action.
Texas A&M at Mississippi 7:00 PM ET
Ole Miss has let a promising start to the season fade a bit with four consecutive losses and the Rebels look to begin moving forward again when they host struggling Texas A&M on Wednesday night in an SEC contest. Ole Miss won 13 of the first 15 games this season and started the league slate with three straight victories before managing one win in its last six outings, including an 81-75 setback against Mississippi State on Saturday.
Maryland at Nebraska 7:00 PM ET
Both Maryland and host Nebraska have been tumbling down the Big Ten standings of late, lending a sense of urgency to their matchup Wednesday night. Maryland has followed up a 7-1 start in conference play with losses in three of their last four games, including a 69-61 setback at No. 19 Wisconsin on Friday.
Clemson at Georgia Tech 7:00 PM ET
After dropping five of its first six ACC games, Clemson looks to build off its first back-to-back victories since late December when it travels to Georgia Tech on Wednesday. The Tigers have defeated Pittsburgh and Wake Forest to pull within two games of .500 in conference play, and used a strong performance from Elijah Thomas in Sunday’s 64-37 victory over the Demon Deacons, getting 23 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocked shots from their 6-9 senior center.
Notre Dame at Miami-Florida 7:00 PM ET
Two teams struggling for conference wins meet on Wednesday evening when Notre Dame visits Miami. The Fighting Irish are coming off just their second ACC win of the season, while the Hurricanes have lost five in a row and eight of nine.
Wichita St. at East Carolina 7:00 PM ET
Wichita State will look to post its first true road win of the season in its seventh try on Wednesday, when it visits an East Carolina squad that has lost six of its last seven contests. For the first time during American Athletic Conference play, the Shockers recorded consecutive victories when they handed Tulsa a 79-68 defeat on Saturday.
Georgetown at Providence 7:30 PM ET
Teams hoping to kick start a run that will lead to an NCAA Tournament berth will do battle Wednesday when Georgetown visits Providence for a Big East game. The Hoyas and the Friars are similar in that have young teams trying to find their way but how they play could not be any different.
Baylor at Texas 8:00 PM ET
Coming off one of the most dominating weeks in program history, Baylor will look to extend a number of streaks when it visits Texas on Wednesday night in a Big 12 Conference matchup. After posting a pair of lopsided victories by a combined 56 points last week, the Bears are seeking their seventh straight victory overall and seventh in a row over the Longhorns.
Creighton at Villanova 8:00 PM ET
With 10 straight wins and a perfect 9-0 mark in Big East play, No. 13 Villanova is starting to look more and more like a March Madness threat. The defending national champions look to continue their run of hot play Wednesday when they host Creighton.
Georgia at Alabama 9:00 PM ET
Alabama has struggled to find consistency in SEC play, alternating wins and losses in its past seven conference games, and looks to rebound from a difficult loss to its in-state rival when it hosts Georgia on Wednesday. The Crimson Tide spent Saturday night chasing Auburn in an 84-63 road defeat, seeing runs of 21-2 and 17-0 in the first half putting Alabama in a 20-point hole at halftime en route to falling back to .500 in league play.
Louisiana State at Mississippi State 9:00 PM ET
After having its 10-game winning streak and perfect record in the Southeastern Conference halted, No. 22 Louisiana State looks to avoid back-to-back losses for the second time this season when it visits No. 21 Mississippi State on Wednesday night. The Tigers dropped a one-point decision to Arkansas to deny their bid for their first 8-0 start in SEC play since 1981.
Wisconsin at Minnesota 9:00 PM ET
Wisconsin was unable to overcome a porous first-half performance and fell to Minnesota last month, with the setback serving as one of four in a five-game span. The 19th-ranked Badgers have rebounded from that stretch with five straight victories and are out to avert their first season sweep at the hands of the Golden Gophers since 2008-09 when the Big Ten rivals meet Wednesday in Minneapolis.
Oklahoma State at Texas Christian 9:00 PM ET
TCU's success in Big 12 play has largely been dictated by where it plays, and the Horned Frogs have to be looking forward to a stretch filled with home games. They will try to bounce back from a fifth straight road loss and push their home winning streak to eight in a row when they host Oklahoma State on Wednesday for a conference clash.
Colorado at UCLA 9:00 PM ET

Following a 3-0 start, UCLA has dropped four of its last six Pac-12 games and finds itself in the middle of the pack at the midpoint of the conference season. The Bruins, though, are in position to bounce back with four of their next six games at home, beginning with Wednesday night’s date with Colorado.

California at Oregon 9:30 PM ET
After recording one of its worst shooting performances in nine years under coach Dana Altman, Oregon is well-positioned to bounce back Wednesday against visiting California. The Bears have lost a school-record-tying 10 games and appear destined for their second straight last-place finish under coach Wyking Jones.
Nevada at Colorado St. 10:00 PM ET
Two-time defending Mountain West champion Nevada, winner of seven consecutive games, continues to climb up the national rankings and enters Wednesday night's game at Colorado State at No. 6, just one spot below the highest mark in school history. Next up is a Rams team that the Wolf Pack beat by 40 points just two weeks ago in Reno.
Utah at Southern California 11:00 PM ET

After a 2-2 start, USC has won four of its last five Pac-12 games to gain a share of the three-way second-place tie in the conference at the halfway mark. The Trojans tip off the second half of the slate with a two-game homestand, beginning with Wednesday night’s date with Utah.
