Preview Roundups
December 18, 2019
Charlotte at Cleveland 7:00 PM ET
The Cleveland Cavaliers lost five times during a challenging six-game gauntlet against some of the league's elite teams. They'll try to pick up a rare victory when they play a three-game homestand against some sub-.500 teams, beginning Wednesday with a visit from the Charlotte Hornets.
Toronto at Detroit 7:00 PM ET
Pascal Siakam and Kyle Lowry playing well and getting some help is a decent recipe for success for the Toronto Raptors, who will try to push their winning streak to three in a row when they visit the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday. Siakam and Lowry are getting plenty of support recently from Norm Powell, who is budding into a star for the team.
Chicago at Washington 7:00 PM ET
It's one step forward and one step back for the Chicago Bulls, who traded wins and losses over the last four games as they try to find some consistency. The Bulls will try to get back into the win column when they continue a four-game road trip by visiting the Washington Wizards on Wednesday.
Miami at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
The Philadelphia 76ers are the lone team remaining in the NBA with an unblemished home record and will put that on the line when they host the Miami Heat on Wednesday. The 76ers own a 14-0 record in their own arena and are winners of 13 of the last 16 overall, though they are coming off a 109-89 loss at Brooklyn on Sunday.
New Orleans at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
Teams mired in long losing streaks match up Wednesday when the New Orleans Pelicans visit the Minnesota Timberwolves. New Orleans dropped a 108-101 overtime decision to the visiting Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday as its franchise record for consecutive losses reached 13 while Minnesota has lost its last seven outings.
Memphis at Oklahoma City 8:00 PM ET
The Oklahoma City Thunder will seek to notch their ninth straight home win over Memphis when the Grizzlies come to town on Wednesday. Memphis hasn't won in Oklahoma City since notching a 91-89 win on Nov. 7, 2014 and has lost by double digits in six of the eight visits during the slide.
Orlando at Denver 9:00 PM ET
The Denver Nuggets look to improve to 4-0 on a five-game homestand when they face the Orlando Magic on Wednesday. The Nuggets have beaten Portland, Oklahoma City and New York to improve to 11-3 at home this season.
Boston at Dallas 9:30 PM ET
The Dallas Mavericks are fresh off a stunning upset without their star player and they look to post another impressive win when they host the Boston Celtics on Wednesday. Dallas broke the 18-game winning streak of the Milwaukee Bucks with a 120-116 road victory on Monday despite not having superstar point guard Luka Doncic.
Golden State at Portland 10:00 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors and the Portland Trail Blazers faced off in the Western Conference finals last spring but neither team would make the playoffs if the season ended today, and one would have the best odds at picking at the top of the draft. The Warriors will try to become the final team in the NBA to earn a sixth win when they visit the Trail Blazers on Monday.
