Preview Roundups
January 16, 2019
Orlando at Detroit 7:00 PM ET
The Orlando Magic are one of the more inconsistent teams in the league but are capable of looking like a playoff contender when operating at the top of their game. The Magic will try to keep playing well and earn a third consecutive win when they visit the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday.
Toronto at Boston 8:00 PM ET
The Boston Celtics were swept on a three-game road trip through Miami, Orlando and Brooklyn and return home with questions about the team's consistency and cohesiveness. Ready to take advantage of the Celtics' struggles are the Eastern Conference-leading Toronto Raptors, who visit Boston on Wednesday.
Brooklyn at Houston 8:00 PM ET
The Houston Rockets could have been excused for suffering a letdown in the wake of news that center Clint Capela would miss a month or more due to a broken thumb, but superstar James Harden was not having any of that. Harden will look to continue his historic run and lead the shorthanded Rockets to another victory when they host the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.
Milwaukee at Memphis 8:00 PM ET
The Milwaukee Bucks sit a season-best 19 games above .500 and look to increase that number when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. Milwaukee rolled to a 124-86 home triumph over Miami on Tuesday to notch its NBA-leading 22nd victory by double digits this season.
San Antonio at Dallas 8:30 PM ET
The San Antonio Spurs look to defeat Dallas for the 13th time in the past 15 meetings when they visit the Mavericks on Wednesday. San Antonio was on a roll with 14 victories in 18 games before suffering back-to-back double-digit setbacks to the Oklahoma City Thunder and Charlotte Hornets.
Cleveland at Portland 10:00 PM ET
The Cleveland Cavaliers snapped a 12-game slide with a 101-95 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday while showing some spark at the defensive end. The Cavaliers' suspect defense will face another strong challenge when they try to make it two straight wins while visiting the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday.
New Orleans at Golden State 10:30 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors look to post their 22nd win in the last 24 meetings when they host the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday. Stephen Curry scored 37 points as Golden State continued its dominance over the Pelicans with a 131-121 home victory on Oct. 31.
Utah at L.A. Clippers 10:30 PM ET
The Utah Jazz look to extend their season-best winning streak to five games when they visit the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday. The contest in Los Angeles is the only one on the road in a nine-game stretch for Utah, which just completed a 4-0 homestand.
