Preview Roundups
January 11, 2020
Minnesota at Houston 5:00 PM ET
Russell Westbrook put on a show in front of his old home crowd on Thursday, but it wasn't enough to pull his new team to a win. Westbrook and the Houston Rockets will try to bounce back and win for the fourth time in five games when they return home and host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.
New Orleans at Boston 7:00 PM ET
The Boston Celtics have lost a season-high three consecutive games and look to right the ship as they face three straight teams with losing records at home, starting with a matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night. Boston was routed by San Antonio at home 129-114 on Wednesday before suffering a 109-98 setback on the road against Philadelphia - without injured Joel Embiid - just 24 hours later.
Chicago at Detroit 7:00 PM ET
The Chicago Bulls aim to complete a four-game season sweep of Detroit when they visit the Pistons on Saturday. Chicago won the first three meetings by an average of 12.7 points, including a 119-107 victory in Detroit on Dec. 21.
L.A. Lakers at Oklahoma City 8:00 PM ET
The red-hot Oklahoma City Thunder face a tough test when they host the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night. Oklahoma City has won 11 of its last 13 games after easily handling the Houston Rockets on Thursday while Los Angeles owns the best record in the Western Conference.
Philadelphia at Dallas 8:30 PM ET
The second game without injured All-Star center Joel Embiid went quite well for the Philadelphia 76ers, and they will try to make it two wins in a row Saturday night when they begin a quick two-game trip with a matchup against the Dallas Mavericks. Embiid, who is averaging a team-high 23.4 points, will be re-evaluated in about two weeks after undergoing surgery on his finger but the 76ers defeated Boston 109-98 on Thursday.
Cleveland at Denver 9:00 PM ET
The Denver Nuggets were looking at a poor road trip until Nikola Jokic found his MVP form and led them to wins at Atlanta and Dallas. Jokic and the Nuggets will try to maintain the same intensity when they open a three-game homestand by hosting the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Milwaukee at Portland 10:00 PM ET
Giannis Antetokounmpo looks to bounce back from his lowest-scoring game of the season when the Milwaukee Bucks visit the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday. Antetokounmpo tallied just 13 points in Friday's 127-106 victory over the host Sacramento Kings as teammates Khris Middleton and Eric Bledsoe led the way.
