Washington at Chi. Cubs 2:20 PM ET
The Washington Nationals are running away with victories during their latest hot stretch and they'll seek a fourth consecutive rout when they play the host Chicago Cubs on Saturday in the second of a three-game set. The Nationals took the series opener 9-3 on Friday for their 10th win in the last 12 games - six of which have come by at least six runs.
NY Yankees at LA Dodgers 4:05 PM ET
The New York Yankees halted their four-game losing streak in an impressive manner and look to defeat the host Los Angeles Dodgers again on Saturday in the middle contest of their three-game set. Didi Gregorius collected five RBIs on a grand slam and a solo shot as New York went deep five times overall while shellacking Los Angeles 10-2 in the series opener.
Philadelphia at Miami 6:10 PM ET
The Philadelphia Phillies planned on putting together a winning streak after sweeping a two-game series at Boston and looking ahead at the next six games against sub-.500 teams, but the Miami Marlins had different ideas. The Phillies will try to pick themselves up after an embarrassing loss and get back to the business of securing a wild card spot when they visit the Marlins again on Saturday.
Tampa Bay at Baltimore 7:05 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays have scored seven runs in an inning three times this season - and the last two have come against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. The Rays are expected to welcome another big bat to the lineup on Saturday night as they look to continue their rousing success away from home in the third of a four-game set against the Orioles.
Cincinnati at Pittsburgh 7:05 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Pirates have not had many reasons to celebrate in the second half of the season, but the Cincinnati Reds seem to bring out the best in them at PNC Park. Pittsburgh has a chance to win only its second series since the All-Star break when they resume a three-game set against the visiting Reds on Saturday night.
LA Angels at Houston 7:10 PM ET
Yuli Gurriel has been riding a two-month hot streak and looks to continue his success on Saturday, when the Houston Astros host the Los Angeles Angels for the middle contest of their three-game set. Gurriel hit a tie-breaking two-run homer in the fifth inning as the Astros won the series opener 5-4.
Detroit at Minnesota 7:10 PM ET
Ronny Rodriguez raised his batting average over .230 for the first time in nearly two months, yet he still has managed to leave an impression on two of the game's best pitchers in less than a week. The 27-year-old utility infielder attempts to build upon one of his best offensive performances of the year as the Tigers eye their third win in four contests when they continue their three-game road series against the Minnesota Twins on Saturday.
Kansas City at Cleveland 7:10 PM ET
Right-hander Mike Clevinger looks to continue his dominance in the series as he takes the mound for the Cleveland Indians on Saturday night when they host the struggling Kansas City Royals for the second of a three-game set. Clevinger is 8-0, including a pair of wins this season, with a 1.96 ERA in 12 career contests (11 starts) against the Royals with 73 strikeouts across 69 total innings.
Texas at Chi. White Sox 7:10 PM ET
The Chicago White Sox's pitching staff hasn't been a particular strength for the bulk of the season, but it has been quite impressive during the team's three-game winning streak. The White Sox hope a resurgent Ivan Nova can extend their recent string of dominant pitching on Saturday, when they look to clinch a series win in the third contest of their four-game set versus the visiting Texas Rangers.
Arizona at Milwaukee 7:10 PM ET
The Milwaukee Brewers are trying to stay in the race for the second National League wild card at the expense of another team in the race and knocked off the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-1 on Friday. The Brewers will try to make it two in a row over the Diamondbacks and three straight overall when they host the second of a three-game series on Saturday.
Atlanta at NY Mets 7:10 PM ET
The Atlanta Braves claimed Billy Hamilton off waivers this week for his speed and defense, but enter Saturday’s middle contest of a three-game series at the New York Mets with a six-game winning streak thanks to his bat. Hamilton, who entered the game in the ninth inning as a pinch-runner, singled home the go-ahead run in the 14th inning and stole two bases as the National League East leaders overcame a major-league record-tying 26 strikeouts in a 2-1 victory.
Colorado at St. Louis 7:15 PM ET
Marcell Ozuna has found his home run swing after an 11-game drought and looks to go deep for the third straight day in the series when the St. Louis Cardinals host the Colorado Rockies on Saturday night. Ozuna, who is 7-for-14 in his last four games, launched a two-run homer in Friday’s 8-3 triumph as the Cardinals moved into first place by a half-game over the Chicago Cubs in the National League Central.
Boston at San Diego 8:40 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox face an uphill battle for the second American League wild card spot, but anything is possible if slugger J.D. Martinez can maintain his current pace. Martinez has been on an extended tear for the Red Sox, who continue their three-game series against the host San Diego Padres on Saturday.
San Francisco at Oakland 9:07 PM ET
The Oakland Athletics are loaded with confidence as they resume the Bay Bridge Series by hosting the San Francisco Giants on Saturday for the first of a two-game set after sweeping the New York Yankees in three contests. Oakland is in a virtual tie with Cleveland for the second wild-card spot in the American League and one-half game behind Tampa Bay after winning seven of its last eight contests - a stretch that started with a victory over San Francisco.
Toronto at Seattle 9:10 PM ET
Felix Hernandez returns to the mound when the Seattle Mariners attempt to record their sixth win in seven contests as they host the struggling Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday for the middle contest of their three-game set. Seattle had its four-game winning streak snapped in Tampa Bay on Wednesday but bounced back to post a 7-4 victory over Toronto in the series opener.
