San Diego at Cincinnati 12:35 PM ET
Freddy Galvis is making the most of his opportunity with Cincinnati and he'll try to stay hot when the Reds host the San Diego Padres on Wednesday afternoon in the rubber match of their three-game series. Galvis belted a go-ahead two-run homer in the sixth inning to lift Cincinnati to a 3-2 victory Tuesday, helping the Reds clinch their first season series over San Diego since 2012.
Seattle at Tampa Bay 1:10 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays have had a difficult time with a pair of last-place teams on this homestand and will try to avoid a three-game sweep against the Seattle Mariners in the series finale Wednesday afternoon. The Rays needed walk-off hits to win two of three against major league-worst Detroit and have dropped the first two games versus the Mariners after coughing up a two-run lead in Tuesday’s 7-4 setback.
Chi. White Sox at Minnesota 1:10 PM ET
The Minnesota Twins look to continue their offensive surge and create more cushion in the American League Central when they host the Chicago White Sox in the rubber match of the three-game set Wednesday afternoon. Washington at Pittsburgh 7:05 PM ET
The Washington Nationals entered Tuesday's matchup in Pittsburgh having amassed 43 runs in their previous three games while the Pirates managed one run during that same span. However, Pittsburgh evened the four-game set by victimizing Washington's beleaguered bullpen and will seek back-to-back home wins for the first time since July 6-7 on Wednesday night.
Kansas City at Baltimore 7:05 PM ET
The Baltimore Orioles are winless in their last six series, a drought they have a chance to end when they host the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night in the rubber match of a three-game set. The Orioles evened the series with a 4-1 victory on Tuesday to halt an eight-game losing streak and earn just their second victory in the last 15 contests.
Philadelphia at Boston 7:10 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox were slow out of the gate before coming up lame down the stretch to drop the opener of an abbreviated two-game interleague series against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Red Sox will look for a more complete effort on Wednesday when the teams reconvene at Fenway Park.
Cleveland at NY Mets 7:10 PM ET
Amed Rosario has made himself at home in the leadoff spot, replacing the injured Jeff McNeil to bat 16-for-28 in his last six contests. After collecting two hits in the series opener, Rosario aims to continue his torrid stretch on Wednesday as the New York Mets host the Cleveland Indians.
Miami at Atlanta 7:20 PM ET
Freddie Freeman entered Tuesday hitless in his past 12 at-bats, but the Atlanta Braves first baseman always enjoys facing the Miami Marlins and entering Wednesday's middle contest of a three-game home series, his brief slump is over. Freeman finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored, homered twice and drove in four runs as the Braves captured the series opener 5-1, raising his career average in 160 games against the Marlins to .301 with 29 homers and 93 RBIs.
Milwaukee at St. Louis 7:45 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals will try to finish off their second straight series sweep of the visiting Milwaukee Brewers when the National League Central rivals finish their three-game set Wednesday night. The Cardinals have won six straight matchups with the Brewers after coasting to a 9-4 win Tuesday.
San Francisco at Chi. Cubs 8:05 PM ET
The Chicago Cubs and red-hot Anthony Rizzo continue pursuit of the National League Central title or a wild card spot as they host the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday in the middle contest of their three-game series. Rizzo has four home runs in his last five games after belting two for his first multi-homer contest of the season in Tuesday's 5-3 victory, making him the seventh Cub with at least six 25-homer campaigns and leading Chicago to its third straight victory.
Detroit at Houston 8:10 PM ET
Justin Verlander is in top form as he goes up against his former team. The veteran right-hander looks to win his sixth consecutive decision when the Houston Astros host the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday for the middle contest of their three-game series.
NY Yankees at Oakland 10:07 PM ET
After winning three of four against one division leader, the Oakland Athletics got off to a good start versus another as they continue their quest for the postseason.
