June 26, 2019
Chi. White Sox at Boston 1:05 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox look to finish off their first sweep at home since May 10-12 when they host the struggling Chicago White Sox for the finale of a three-game set Wednesday afternoon. Christian Vazquez tied the game with a two-run single that extended his hitting streak to a career-high 11 games and Xander Bogaerts belted a two-run homer as the Red Sox earned a 6-3 victory Tuesday.
Toronto at NY Yankees 1:05 PM ET
The New York Yankees wasted little time setting a major league record for consecutive games with a homer on Tuesday, but the availability of one of their sluggers is in jeopardy as they vie for a series sweep of the visiting Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday afternoon. Giancarlo Stanton exited New York's 4-3 win with a right knee contusion and was scheduled to undergo an MRI exam, the team announced.
Kansas City at Cleveland 1:10 PM ET
The Cleveland Indians hope to avoid losing their second series this season against the last-place Kansas City Royals when they host the finale of a three-game set between American League Central rivals Wednesday afternoon. The Indians, who were swept at Kansas City earlier this year, looked to be on their way to a second victory in the series Tuesday before giving up five runs in the top of the ninth inning and suffering an 8-6 defeat.
San Diego at Baltimore 3:05 PM ET
The Baltimore Orioles received a reminder of their better days with the return of Manny Machado to Camden Yards, but all it added up to was another loss for the worst team in the major leagues. Led by the red-hot Machado, the San Diego Padres ended a three-game slide Tuesday night and will go for a two-game interleague sweep of the Orioles on Wednesday afternoon.
LA Dodgers at Arizona 3:40 PM ET
The Los Angeles Dodgers look to record their eighth victory in nine games when they visit the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday afternoon for the finale of their three-game series. The Dodgers are a major league-best 55-26 at the midway point of the season and on pace to record the fourth 100-win campaign since the franchise relocated from Brooklyn for the 1958 season.
Colorado at San Francisco 3:45 PM ET
San Francisco Giants ace Madison Bumgarner has drawn most of the attention ahead of next month’s trade deadline, but closer Will Smith could attract an equal amount of interest. Smith is a perfect 21-for-21 in save opportunities for the last-place Giants, who face the visiting Colorado Rockies on Wednesday in the rubber match of a three-game series.
NY Mets at Philadelphia 7:05 PM ET
Jason Vargas found himself in the headlines recently for his actions off the field as opposed to those on it. After reportedly threatening a beat reporter, Vargas will bid to give the press something positive to print on Wednesday when he takes the mound for the New York Mets in their third contest of a four-game series against the host Philadelphia Phillies.
Washington at Miami 7:10 PM ET
Washington Nationals left-hander Patrick Corbin is on the verge of a career milestone and he'll have a chance to reach it against an opponent that he dominated a month ago. Corbin needs one strikeout to reach 1,000 as the visiting Nationals go for their seventh win in nine games when they resume a three-game series against the Miami Marlins on Wednesday night.
Texas at Detroit 7:10 PM ET
The Texas Rangers are unbeaten (5-0-3) in their last eight series and can clinch another win when they continue a three-game set at the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday. Every starter had at least one hit as the Rangers took the opener 5-3 on Tuesday night for their third consecutive victory.
Oakland at St. Louis 7:15 PM ET
The Oakland Athletics continue to steamroll through opponents on the road and can claim a two-game sweep when they take on the host St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday. A 7-3 win in the series opener Tuesday night gave the A's 13 wins in their last 17 road games, a surge that came on the heels of the team's 5-15 start away from home.
Atlanta at Chi. Cubs 8:05 PM ET
Yu Darvish attempts to halt his struggles at Wrigley Field when he takes the mound for the Chicago Cubs against the visiting Atlanta Braves on Wednesday in the third contest of their four-game series. Darvish has gone 0-2 with a 5.91 ERA in eight home starts this season as he fell to 0-5 with a 5.66 ERA in 12 career outings at the historic ballpark.
Cincinnati at LA Angels 8:07 PM ET
The Los Angeles Angels got off to a strong start on their six-game homestand thanks in large part to their middle infielders. The club seeks its third straight overall victory and a sweep of its two-game interleague series when it hosts the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday.
Pittsburgh at Houston 8:10 PM ET
The Houston Astros continue to get healthier, and that spells trouble for their opponents as they host the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday for the middle contest of their three-game interleague series. George Springer returned Tuesday after missing 27 games with a hamstring injury and went 1-for-4 in the Astros' 5-1 victory, improving the best home record in the American League to 28-11.
Tampa Bay at Minnesota 8:10 PM ET
Runs could be hard to produce on Wednesday, when the first-place Minnesota Twins host the wild card-leading Tampa Bay Rays for the middle contest of their three-game series. Tampa Bay's Charlie Morton leads the American League with a 2.31 ERA and will look to lower it when he opposes Jake Odorizzi, who is third at 2.56 despite having allowed four runs in each of his last two starts.
Seattle at Milwaukee 8:10 PM ET
After a brief respite, the Milwaukee Brewers' recent struggles resumed in the series opener. They look to avoid another losing streak when they host the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday for the middle contest of their three-game interleague series.
