June 20, 2019
Cleveland at Texas 2:05 PM ET
The Cleveland Indians hope to continue their offensive surge and put an exclamation point on a terrific road trip when they visit the Texas Rangers for the finale of their four-game series on Thursday afternoon. Jason Kipnis belted a pair of homers and recorded four RBIs in Wednesday’s 10-4 triumph as the Indians improved to 5-1 on a seven-game trek during which they have scored a total of 47 runs and 20 in the last two contests.
Colorado at Arizona 3:40 PM ET
The Colorado Rockies attempt to set a franchise record when they visit the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday afternoon for the finale of their three-game set. Colorado, which also is seeking an eighth straight win in the season series, is looking to record at least 12 hits in its seventh consecutive contest after posting a 6-4 triumph on Wednesday.
Philadelphia at Washington 7:05 PM ET
The Washington Nationals have won 16 of their last 23 contests to move into third place in the National League East, just four games behind a slumping Philadelphia Phillies team that has lost seven of its last nine. After winning both games of a doubleheader, the Nationals aim to continue making up ground on the visiting Phillies on Thursday in the finale of a rain-shortened series.
Houston at NY Yankees 7:05 PM ET
The New York Yankees bludgeoned the reigning American League Cy Young Award winner Wednesday afternoon to complete an impressive sweep, opening up their largest lead in the AL East this season. They may add another big piece to their potent lineup in the form of slugger Aaron Judge during the big four-game series with the visiting Houston Astros that starts on Thursday.
LA Angels at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
Mike Trout and the Los Angeles Angels will try to finish off a season series sweep when they meet the host Toronto Blue Jays in the finale of a four-game set Thursday night. The two-time Most Valuable Player hit a pair of home runs - including a grand slam - and drove in seven runs in Wednesday's 11-6 win for the Angels.
Miami at St. Louis 7:15 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals look to record their third straight series victory and continue rising in the National League Central when they host the Miami Marlins on Thursday for the finale of their four-game set. Paul Goldschmidt belted a walk-off solo homer in the 11th inning to give the Cardinals a 2-1 victory on Wednesday - their seventh win in 10 contests that kept them two games back in the division standings.
NY Mets at Chi. Cubs 8:05 PM ET
The New York Mets are experiencing difficulties on the road, and that doesn't create much optimism entering a four-game series against the host Chicago Cubs that begins on Thursday. New York's 7-2 loss to Atlanta on Wednesday was its 13th setback in 17 road contests and dropped it to 15-25 away from home this season.
Cincinnati at Milwaukee 8:10 PM ET
The Milwaukee Brewers can't get home soon enough after closing out an eight-game road trip with a thud, dropping all three matchups with the San Diego Padres. Losers of five of six, the Brewers have a chance to reclaim some momentum when they open a 10-game homestand with the first of four against the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday night.
Minnesota at Kansas City 8:15 PM ET
The American League Central-leading Minnesota Twins hope to right the ship after losing three of their last four contests when they visit the last-place Kansas City Royals on Thursday for the opener of their four-game series. The Twins outlasted Boston 4-3 in 17 innings on Tuesday but dropped a 9-4 decision to Boston the following night to wrap up a 5-4 homestand that saw them win two of three against the Royals.
Tampa Bay at Oakland 10:07 PM ET
What loomed as a showdown for supremacy in the American League East turned into a comeuppance for the Tampa Bay Rays, who were swept for only the second time this season in a three-game set at Yankee Stadium. The Rays will look to get back on track when they resume their 10-game road trip with the first of four at the Oakland Athletics on Thursday night.
San Francisco at LA Dodgers 10:10 PM ET
Tension likely will be in the air when Madison Bumgarner and the San Francisco Giants visit the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday for the finale of their four-game series. Bumgarner verbally chastised Max Muncy 11 days ago in San Francisco after the Dodgers infielder was slow to begin jogging around the bases after homering into McCovey Cove.
Baltimore at Seattle 10:10 PM ET
Already in the midst of a horrible week, the Baltimore Orioles received a scare when All-Star candidate Trey Mancini exited Wednesday’s game with a left elbow contusion. Fortunately, X-rays came back negative and the outfielder could be back in the lineup as soon as Thursday when the Orioles open a four-game series against the host Seattle Mariners.
