Philadelphia at San Diego 3:40 PM ET
Jay Bruce appears to be a perfect fit for the Philadelphia Phillies, who learned on Tuesday that Andrew McCutchen will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL. The Phillies conclude their three-game series against the host San Diego Padres on Wednesday afternoon, less than 24 hours after Bruce tied a career high with six RBIs in a 9-6 victory.
LA Dodgers at Arizona 3:40 PM ET
The Los Angeles Dodgers aim to extend their winning streak to eight games when they visit the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday afternoon for the finale of their three-game series. The Dodgers prevailed 9-0 on Tuesday and have outscored Arizona 12-1 over the first two games of the set.
Atlanta at Pittsburgh 7:05 PM ET
Austin Riley continues to impress as he crafts one of the more amazing starts to a career in major league history, and he carries the Atlanta Braves into Wednesday’s contest at the Pittsburgh Pirates after another monumental moment in the series opener. The 22-year-old outfielder slammed a three-run, go-ahead homer as Atlanta rallied for a 12-5 victory Tuesday, giving Riley 25 RBIs - the second-fastest ever to reach that mark in 18 career games.
NY Yankees at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
The New York Yankees have won nine consecutive series for the first time in 21 years but that streak could be in jeopardy when they continue a three-game set at the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday night. The Yankees have lost back-to-back games for the first time in over a month, dropping a 4-3 decision in the series opener in the first meeting between the teams this season.
Minnesota at Cleveland 7:10 PM ET
Francisco Lindor looks to follow up a standout performance in the series opener when his Cleveland Indians host the American League Central-leading Minnesota Twins for the second of a three-game set Wednesday. Lindor belted a pair of homers among three hits in a 5-2 victory Tuesday and the All-Star shortstop is a gaudy 6-for-7 in the last two contests to push his batting average to .306.
Tampa Bay at Detroit 7:10 PM ET
Miguel Cabrera’s deteriorating right knee did not hamper his swing in the series opener and the former two-time MVP hopes to have a follow-up to a productive night when his Detroit Tigers host the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday. Cabrera, in the lineup for the first time since Friday as the designated hitter, launched a grand slam among three hits and five RBIs as the Tigers outlasted the Rays 9-6 on Tuesday.
San Francisco at NY Mets 7:10 PM ET
The San Francisco Giants closed out the month of May by losing eight of nine games as their pitching staff was ravaged for 73 runs but they have turned things around since the calendar flipped to June. Visiting San Francisco will be seeking a season-high fourth consecutive victory when it continues a three-game series against the sliding New York Mets on Wednesday night.
Miami at Milwaukee 7:40 PM ET
The Miami Marlins were left searching for answers after being shut out for the ninth time in their first 41 games, and boy did they find them by igniting a previously dormant offense. After scoring 100 runs during a sizzling 12-5 stretch, the Marlins aim to ride the momentum of season-high totals in runs (16) and hits (19) in the series opener into Wednesday's contest against the host Milwaukee Brewers.
Baltimore at Texas 8:05 PM ET
Despite a furious rally, the Texas Rangers suffered their second loss in the last seven games in a series opener with the visiting Baltimore Orioles. The teams will try to muster up some energy following the Orioles' wild 12-11 triumph when they play the second of three straight in Arlington, Texas on Wednesday.
Colorado at Chi. Cubs 8:05 PM ET
The Chicago Cubs appear to have righted the ship after enduring a stretch during which they lost eight of 10 contests. Chicago aims for its third consecutive victory when it hosts the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday for the middle contest of their three-game series.
Boston at Kansas City 8:15 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox have snapped out of a funk with back-to-back offensive outbursts and they will try to stretch their winning streak to three when they continue a three-game series at the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday. The Red Sox were held to three runs or fewer four times during a 2-6 swoon before notching eight runs in each of the last two games, including an 8-3 victory in the series opener against the Royals on Tuesday.
Cincinnati at St. Louis 8:15 PM ET
The Cincinnati Reds ended the St. Louis Cardinals’ four-game winning streak in Tuesday’s series opener behind an impressive effort from Jose Peraza, who reached base three times and drove in two runs.
