Washington at NY Mets 12:10 PM ET
Gloom and doom surrounded the New York Mets after they were unceremoniously swept by one National League East foe over the weekend, only to see the dark clouds give way to clear skies following three consecutive victories against another division rival. The Mets bid for their seventh straight win at Citi Field and a four-game sweep of the Washington Nationals when the clubs meet on Thursday afternoon.
Colorado at Pittsburgh 12:35 PM ET
The Colorado Rockies try to salvage a .500 road trip when they seek a three-game sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday afternoon. Colorado (22-25) received a huge boost from its Nos. 6-8 hitters in Wednesday's 9-3 victory as center fielder Ian Desmond, rookie second baseman Brendan Rodgers and catcher Tony Wolters were a combined 7-for-15 with four RBIs and four runs scored.
NY Yankees at Baltimore 12:35 PM ET
With Gleyber Torres and Gary Sanchez staging their own personal Home Run Derby, the New York Yankees are making a mockery of a matchup between the best and worst teams in the American League East. The Yankees have blasted 11 home runs in the first three games of the series and will go for a four-game sweep of the host Baltimore Orioles on Thursday afternoon.
Boston at Toronto 12:37 PM ET
After taking turns beating up on each other to open their four-game series, the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays provided quite a bit of drama on Wednesday, even trading 12th-inning home runs in what turned out to be a 4 1/2-hour marathon. The reigning World Series champion Red Sox finally prevailed and will look to clinch a series win Thursday afternoon in Toronto.
Miami at Detroit 1:10 PM ET
The Miami Marlins are riding their longest winning streak in over three years and will try to extend it to six victories in a row when they finish a three-game series at the Detroit Tigers on Thursday. The Marlins entered last weekend's series with the New York Mets at a woeful 10-31, but they've rolled to five straight wins while holding opponents to a total of 13 runs.
Philadelphia at Chi. Cubs 2:20 PM ET
Chicago Cubs left-hander Jon Lester bids to rebound from the worst start of his season against a team that he has thoroughly dominated throughout his career. Lester carries an 8-0 record with a 1.49 ERA and 1.01 WHIP in 10 career meetings with Philadelphia into Thursday afternoon's finale of a four-game series against the visiting Phillies.
Atlanta at San Francisco 3:45 PM ET
Austin Riley doesn't seem to need a learning curve to get comfortable with major league pitching. The Atlanta rookie has belted four homers in eight big league outings and looks to continue his strong start when the Braves visit the San Francisco Giants on Thursday in the finale of a four-game set.
Minnesota at LA Angels 4:07 PM ET
The Minnesota Twins attempt to complete a three-game sweep when they visit the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday in the series finale. The teams were rained out Wednesday but had a mutual off-day and Minnesota will be looking to win for the eighth time in nine games.
Tampa Bay at Cleveland 6:10 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays left home with a good feeling after routing the top team in the National League and look to build on that momentum when they visit the Cleveland Indians for the opener of a four-game set on Thursday night. Avisail Garcia and Kevin Kiermaier each belted three-run homers as the Rays scored seven times in the seventh inning to pull away from the red-hot Los Angeles Dodgers for an 8-1 victory on Wednesday.
Chi. White Sox at Houston 8:10 PM ET
Eloy Jimenez is coming off the second two-homer game of his promising career and he will look to help the Chicago White Sox gain a four-game split against the host Houston Astros on Thursday. The rookie outfielder clubbed two solo blasts on Wednesday as Chicago rolled to a 9-4 win.
