Preview Roundups
April 13, 2019
Baltimore at Boston 1:05 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox ticked off a couple of milestones for the 2019 season on Friday - first back-to-back victories and first win by a starting pitcher - and it only took the defending champs 14 games. The Red Sox will try to make it three straight wins when they host the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday in the second of a four-game series.
Chi. White Sox at NY Yankees 1:05 PM ET
Rookie outfielder Eloy Jimenez is making a strong first impression in the majors and thoroughly enjoyed his first taste of the Big Apple. Jimenez will try to follow up an impressive New York debut and lead the Chicago White Sox to a second straight win when they visit the Yankees for the second of a three-game series on Saturday.
Detroit at Minnesota 2:10 PM ET
The Detroit Tigers have scored the fewest runs in the major leagues but amazingly are three games above .500. The Tigers will try to get their bats moving on Saturday afternoon, when they visit the Minnesota Twins for the opener of a series that was reduced from three game to two due to Friday's postponement because of snow.
LA Angels at Chi. Cubs 2:20 PM ET

After a rough start to the season, the Chicago Cubs seem to be rounding into form. The Cubs will try to clinch their second consecutive series victory when they host the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday afternoon for the middle contest of their three-game set.

Tampa Bay at Toronto 3:07 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays are off to their best 14-game start in franchise history at 11-3 and look to push their winning streak to six in a row when they continue a three-game series at the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday. Behind two home runs apiece from Austin Meadows and Brandon Lowe, the Rays picked up an 11-7 win in the series opener Friday night.
Pittsburgh at Washington 4:05 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Pirates managed to quiet the bats of the Washington Nationals for the most part on Friday but still needed 10 innings to secure a win. The Pirates will try to clinch a win in the three-game series when they visit the Nationals for the middle contest on Saturday.
Colorado at San Francisco 4:05 PM ET
The Colorado Rockies went to great lengths in a bid to end losing streak last time out, to no avail. Colorado looks to halt its skid at seven games when it visits the San Francisco Giants on Saturday for the third contest of their four-game series.
Philadelphia at Miami 6:10 PM ET
The Miami Marlins' nine-game homestand began in much the same way as their road trip ended -- with the club scraping to find offense and on the short end of another lopsided defeat. The Philadelphia Phillies ended a modest two-game slide by beating up on Miami in the series opener and look to send the Marlins to a sixth consecutive loss on Saturday night.
St. Louis at Cincinnati 7:10 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds are each coming off impressive series sweeps at home, but the atmosphere will be unlike anything thing either club has experienced as they prepare to square off for the first time this season. The Cardinals look to extend their winning streak to six games on Saturday when they open a two-game set versus the Reds in Monterrey, Mexico.
Cleveland at Kansas City 7:15 PM ET
After a frustrating string of close losses, the Kansas City Royals slugged their way to an easy victory Friday night. The Royals will try to notch consecutive wins for the first time since opening 2-0 when they continue a three-game series against the visiting Cleveland Indians on Saturday.
NY Mets at Atlanta 7:20 PM ET
Brandon Nimmo has shaken off a miserable start to 2019, and looks to build on his breakthrough week while helping the New York Mets record their third consecutive road victory over the Atlanta Braves on Saturday. The Mets left fielder began his season with only two hits in 26 at-bats with 17 strikeouts in his first eight games, but Nimmo is 7-for-18 with eight runs scored in his past five games, slugging a two-run homer and finishing 3-for-4 in Friday’s 6-2 victory.
Oakland at Texas 8:05 PM ET
The Oakland Athletics' road trip got off to a bad start, but the team has turned things around thanks to its offense. Oakland seeks its fifth straight victory when it continues its three-game series against the host Texas Rangers on Saturday.
San Diego at Arizona 8:10 PM ET
The San Diego Padres are sitting atop the National League West standings and playing like a team determined to stay there. The Padres have won three of their first four series and can clinch another one Saturday when they continue their four-game set against the host Arizona Diamondbacks.
Milwaukee at LA Dodgers 9:10 PM ET
Yasmani Grandal made a triumphant return to Dodger Stadium and hopes to help his new team beat his old one again when the Milwaukee Brewers visit the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday. Grandal, who hit 89 home runs over the last four seasons with the Dodgers before leaving as a free agent, belted his fourth of the year to help the Brewers snap a three-game slide with an 8-5 triumph on Friday.
Houston at Seattle 9:10 PM ET
Two former American League Cy Young Award winners square off when the Houston Astros visit the Seattle Mariners on Saturday for the middle contest of their three-game series. Houston's Justin Verlander - who won the award while with Detroit in 2011 - will look to outduel 2010 recipient Felix Hernandez of the Mariners.
