Josh Norris scored the lone goal in the shootout to lift the Ottawa Senators to a 2-1 win against the Minnesota Wild in the NHL Global Series in Stockholm, Sweden, on Saturday.

Erik Brannstrom scored and Anton Forsberg made 24 saves for the Senators. Ottawa has won three straight and four of its past five.

Marco Rossi scored for the Wild, who have lost four in a row. Filip Gustavsson made 30 saves.

The Senators had a chance to get the scoring started early. Captain Brady Tkachuk got behind the Minnesota defense and broke in down the right side 30 seconds into the contest but was denied by Gustavsson.

Later in the frame, Vladimir Tarasenko had a quality opportunity from the left circle that missed short side, and then Gustavsson had to be sharp again with just over five minutes left in the period for a save on Dominik Kubalik in tight.

Early in the second, it was the Wild with an early chance on a Marcus Johansson penalty shot after Brannstrom closed his hand on the puck in the crease, but Johansson was stopped by Gustavsson.

The Wild finally broke through at 6:22 in the second to take a 1-0 lead. Marco Rossi screened Forsberg as he tipped in Brock Faber's point shot through traffic. Mats Zuccarello earned the second assist on the tally, the 400th of his NHL career.

Gustavsson maintained his team's one-goal lead midway through the period with a stop on Claude Giroux from in front.

Brannstrom, a native of Eksjo, Sweden, tied it 1-1 at 3:22 of the third period. With Minnesota on a line change, Forsberg spotted the defenseman alone on the left side in the neutral zone, and Brannstrom skated in before firing a slap shot from the top edge of the left circle. It was his first goal since March 23, 2023.
