Sean Monahan scored twice and Johnny Gaudreau tied a career high with four assists as the host Calgary Flames snapped their four-game skid with a decisive 5-1 victory over the league-leading Florida Panthers on Tuesday.

Matthew Tkachuk collected one goal and two assists, while Rasmus Andersson and Blake Coleman also scored for the Flames. Goaltender Jacob Markstrom made 28 saves in a strong outing.

Sam Bennett replied for the Panthers, who saw their four-game winning streak snapped and lost in regulation for the first time in 10 games. Goalie Spencer Knight stopped 26 shots.

Andersson's first goal of the season gave the struggling Flames the much-needed first strike at the 4:36 mark. After his first rebound attempt was denied, Andersson continued to the slot for a second chance and buried the power-play goal to snap his scoring drought at 38 games, dating back to last season.

Coleman doubled the lead with his third goal in five games and seventh of the season at 11:36 of the opening frame. He was on the spot at the side of the net to bury the loose puck to finish an excellent shift.

Bennett, who spent parts of seven campaigns with the Flames before being traded last season, notched his 16th goal of the season during his first game back in Calgary. He put the visitors on the board past the midway point of the second period, but the hosts pulled away shortly after.

Monahan collected Calgary's second man-advantage marker of the night when he deflected Gaudreau's point shot at 16:03 of the second period to restore a two-goal edge.

Tkachuk showed off his deflection skills by redirecting a thigh-high pass as he skated to the net for his 17th goal of the season at 3:47 of the third period.

Monahan notched his second of the night and sixth of the season three minutes later by teaming with Tkachuk to steal the puck and then finishing a pretty three-way passing play that also included Gaudreau on the ensuing rush.
