Florida captain Aleksander Barkov's tie-breaking power-play goal lifted the Panthers to their third straight win, beating the New York Islanders 4-2 on Saturday in Sunrise, Fla.

With the score knotted 2-2 in the third period, Barkov scored from the left circle on a 4-on-3 Florida man advantage. He ripped his third goal of the season over goaltender Robin Lehner's blocker for a 3-2 lead at 4:43.

Troy Brouwer added an empty-net goal with one second left in the game.

Denis Malgin and Mike Hoffman also scored for the Panthers, who beat the Islanders for the fourth straight meeting.

Hoffman's second-period goal extended his career-high point streak to 11 consecutive games -- the NHL's longest active stretch. Evgenii Dadonov's assist gave him points in 10 straight.

The linemates made the franchise record books as the first Panthers in team history to have concurrent double-digit point streaks.

Roberto Luongo recorded 29 saves in winning his third consecutive start since missing nine games with a leg injury.

Mathew Barzal and Brock Nelson scored for the Islanders, who lost their second straight. Lehner stopped 27 shots in his second consecutive start for the Islanders.

Florida's third line scored first after winning an offensive zone face-off and zipping the puck in behind Lehner. Jared McCann slid a pass out front, and Malgin tallied his first goal of the season at 6:18.

After a turnover in the neutral zone, Barzal skated in on a short breakaway on Luongo, deked and flipped in his second goal just 1:10 after Malgin's marker to tie it up.

The Islanders used a ferocious forecheck in the second period to gain their first lead.

The Panthers had four chances to clear the defensive zone midway through the period, but defenseman Scott Mayfield kept the puck in and eventually found Nelson out front. Nelson toe-dragged past a sliding defender and whipped in his team-leading eighth goal at 8:10 for a 2-1 lead.

Florida tied it 2-2 with 46 seconds left in the period on a fortunate bounce. Hoffman's chip from a bad angle caromed off the left skate of New York defenseman Ryan Pulock and eluded Lehner for Hoffman's seventh goal.
