Kyle Palmieri registered a goal and an assist and the New Jersey Devils held on for a 3-2 victory over the Florida Panthers on Saturday afternoon in their final home game before a seven-game road trip.

Palmieri recorded his fifth multi-point game of the season and the Devils improved to 4-0-1 in those games.

Palmieri scored on a tip-in late in the first period and then had the primary assist on Taylor Hall's second goal of the season.

Hall's goal extended his points streak to seven games as the Devils snapped a three-game losing streak.

Blake Coleman also scored for the Devils, whose next home game is Nov. 13 against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Keith Kinkaid came within 4:57 of his third shutout of the season and made 35 saves. He stopped the first 31 shots before Michael Matheson scored on a backhand. He also allowed a goal to Mike Hoffman on a wrist shot with 15 seconds remaining.

Kinkaid stopped Hoffman seven times and robbed Vincent Trocheck on a breakaway during a Florida power play in the second period before allowing the two goals in the final five minutes.

Florida goaltender James Reimer allowed at least three goals for the fourth time this season and stopped 23 shots.

The Panthers lost for only the third time in the last 11 meetings with the Devils. Florida lost for the third time in four games and continued to struggle in second periods, where it has been outscored 20-8.

The Panthers lost their sixth one-goal game and boarded a flight for Helsinki, Finland, where they will face the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday.

The Devils took a 1-0 lead when Palmieri positioned himself at the right side of the crease and tipped in Damon Severson's slap shot from the point over Reimer with 9.4 seconds remaining.

New Jersey struck again early in the second when Palmieri gained possession of a loose puck near the boards and flipped a cross-ice pass over Aaron Ekblad's stick to Hall, who completed the play from the right side of the crease.

The Devils made it 3-0 when Coleman deflected Mirco Mueller's point shot past Reimer with 6:39 minutes left in the second.
