Jets 4, Oilers 1: Defenseman Tyler Myers and Michael Frolik scored power-play goals as visiting Winnipeg matched a season high with its fifth consecutive victory.

Drew Stafford and Lee Stempniak also tallied for the surging Jets, who remained one point behind Minnesota for the first wild-card spot in the Western Conference despite being without both Bryan Little and Dustin Byfuglien for the eighth straight game due to upper-body injuries. Ondrej Pavelec, the NHL's reigning First Star of the Week, made 33 saves en route to his fifth win in a row as Winnipeg completed a sweep of the three-game season series.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins extended his point streak to a career high-tying six games with the lone goal for the Oilers, who fell to 2-1-1 on their six-game homestand. Ben Scrivens turned aside 20 shots as Edmonton had its four-game point streak (2-0-2) halted.

Winnipeg, which also won five straight from Jan. 13-21, opened the scoring 7 1/2 minutes into the game as Stafford skated down the left wing and beat Scrivens to the glove side from the faceoff circle. Stempniak doubled the lead at the 5 1/2-minute mark of the second period, burying a loose puck in the crease, and Myers ripped a wrist shot from the top of the left circle off the right post and in during a 5-on-3 advantage with four minutes left in the session to make it 3-0.

Nugent-Hopkins got Edmonton on the board 70 seconds into the third with a shot from the inner edge of the left circle that sneaked inside the left post for his fourth goal in three games. Frolik restored the Jets' three-goal bulge during a power play with 7:43 remaining, firing a shot past Scrivens from the slot.
