Ducks 3, Kings 2 (OT): Ryan Kesler scored 45 seconds into overtime for his 200th career goal as host Anaheim improved to an NHL-best 12-20-0 when trailing after two periods with a victory over rival Los Angeles.

Jakob Silfverberg and Patrick Maroon tallied in the third period, and John Gibson made 29 saves - 16 in the final stanza - to earn his third straight victory as the Ducks improved to 28-1-7 in one-goal games this season. Kesler took a pass from defenseman Cam Fowler, walked in and wired a wrist shot past Jonathan Quick as Anaheim won the season series 4-0-1 and increased its Pacific Division lead to 13 points over Vancouver while taking sole possession of first in the Presidents' Trophy race.

Jeff Carter scored his team-leading 25th goal and seventh in the last nine games while Justin Williams tallied his 18th late in regulation for the Kings, who moved one point ahead of Calgary for third in the Pacific. Quick stopped 23 shots in falling to 13-3-2 in his last 18 games after starting 17-15-10.

Los Angeles needed only 14 seconds to convert its first power-play chance when Carter took a pass from Anze Kopitar at the top of the right faceoff circle and blasted a shot that deflected off defenseman Hampus Lindholm's stick and over Gibson's right shoulder at 10:12. The Ducks got even 45 seconds into the third when captain Ryan Getzlaf recorded his team-leading 42nd assist and first in eight games with a pass in front to Maroon, who lifted a shot past Quick.

Anaheim moved in front with 12:25 to play when Silfverberg raced into the Kings' zone and fed a pass to Andrew Cogliano before breaking for the net and sliding the rebound of Cogliano's shot past an irate Quick, who thought he had been interfered. Williams took a pass in the slot from defenseman Jake Muzzin and maneuvered the puck between a sprawling Gibson's pads with 4:14 left for his second goal in four games while recording his seventh point in seven contests.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Los Angeles captain Dustin Brown delivered a huge open-ice hit on Corey Perry, prompting the Ducks' Clayton Stoner to retaliate and give Carter the opportunity to score his ninth power-play goal. ... The Kings, who were 1-1-3 and outscored 16-14 in the season series, fell to 12-9-14 in one-goal games. ... Los Angeles' penalty-killing unit is 43-for-45 in its last 16 games after extinguishing all three Ducks' power plays.
