Predators 3, Jets 1: Captain Shea Weber scored one goal and set up two others as host Nashville became the first team in the league to reach 80 points.

Rookie Filip Forsberg added a goal and an assist and James Neal scored late in the third period as the Predators extended their winning streak to four games and boosted their home record to an NHL-best 23-3-1. Defenseman Roman Josi also notched two assists and Pekka Rinne made 32 saves to register his league-leading 32nd victory.

Michael Frolik scored the lone goal for the Jets, who had their four-game point streak halted. Ondrej Pavelec made 23 saves in the loss, which spoiled the debuts of new acquisitions Drew Stafford and defenseman Tyler Myers.

Weber opened the scoring on a power play 4:47 into the first period with a booming slap shot for his 13th goal of the season. Winnipeg tied it while on the man advantage less than seven minutes later as Frolik tipped in a point shot by Dustin Byfuglien.

Forsberg put Nashville ahead to stay during a power play 3 1/2 minutes into the second period, skating into the right faceoff circle and beating Pavelec with a wrister. Rinne survived a 90-second 5-on-3 before Neal provided insurance by scoring on a wraparound with 3:50 left in the third.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Forsberg's 19th tally set a franchise record for goals by a rookie, eclipsing the previous mark held by Alexander Radulov. ... Myers, acquired along with Stafford from Buffalo in a seven-player blockbuster trade Wednesday, went to the dressing room after taking a hard shot by Weber seconds before Neal's tally. ... Neal notched his 13th goal in 16 games versus the Jets - his highest total against any opponent.
