Tyler Toffoli and All-Star defenseman Drew Doughty also scored while blue-liner Robyn Regehr chipped in with two assists as the Kings won for only the second time in nine games. Jonathan Quick turned aside 26 shots for Los Angeles, which scored three times in the opening period en route to its sixth road victory in 24 tries this season.

Nikita Kucherov and defenseman Victor Hedman each scored for the second straight game for the Lightning, who lost in regulation for the second time in their last nine contests. Ben Bishop allowed three goals on nine shots in the first period and Andrei Vasilevskiy made 19 saves in relief over the final two sessions.

Toffoli opened the scoring 93 seconds into the game by capitalizing on a turnover and moving in to flip the puck past Bishop. Williams knocked home Trevor Lewis’ centering pass from the left-wing boards at 12:30 and Doughty’s shot from the left faceoff circle beat a screened Bishop with under two seconds left in the opening period.

Kucherov chipped in a loose puck from the right side of the net after a poor clearing attempt 58 seconds into the middle period and Vasilevskiy stopped all 15 shots he faced in the session. Hedman fought off a defender to beat Quick on the short side from the left circle 1:34 into the third, but Williams restored the two-goal lead with a blast over Vasilevskiy’s left arm from the right circle on the rush at 7:46.
