Bruins 5, Islanders 2: Reilly Smith and Milan Lucic each registered a goal and two assists as Boston handed New York a rare home loss.

Defensemen Kevan Miller and Torey Krug scored 1:49 apart bridging the second and third periods and All-Star Patrice Bergeron added a power-play goal as the Bruins improved to 7-1-1 in their last nine. David Krejci collected a pair of assists and Tuukka Rask made a season-high 43 saves in Boston's first game after the All-Star break.

Captain John Tavares extended his goal-scoring streak to four games and added an assist while Michael Grabner also tallied for the Islanders, who lost for only the second time in eight overall games and fell to 17-5-0 at Nassau Coliseum. All-Star Jaroslav Halak turned aside 28 shots in dropping to 8-4-0 against the Bruins.

Boston scored twice in a span of 2:10 in the latter stages of the first period, with Smith tipping home a perfect feed from Lucic before Bergeron skated in from the point and beat Halak from the right faceoff circle at 16:09. Tavares got the Islanders on the board at 8:25 of the second, lobbing a shot on net from beyond the blue line and splitting three defenders to backhand the juicy rebound past Rask.

Grabner tied it with a redirection of defenseman Johnny Boychuk's shot at 15:12, but Miller intercepted a clearing attempt by Halak along the right-wing boards and fired it home with 3.4 seconds left in the period for a 3-2 edge. Krug doubled the lead 1:45 into the third with a shot from the left point that deflected off New York's Josh Bailey and sailed past Halak, and Lucic sealed it with an empty-net tally.
