Blues 7, Sharks 2: T.J. Oshie extended his point streak to seven games with a goal and an assist as host St. Louis breezed to its third straight win.

Captain David Backes scored his fifth goal in two games and added an assist while Alex Steen, Jori Lehtera and Paul Stastny also netted a tally and set up another for the Blues, who have erupted for 20 goals during their winning streak while beating the Sharks by five for the second time in six days. Defenseman Jay Bouwmeester and Patrik Berglund also scored, Jaden Schwartz collected three assists and Brian Elliott made 24 saves.

Rookie Melker Karlsson extended his goal-scoring streak to four games and Logan Couture added a short-handed tally and an assist for the Sharks, who finished 2-1-0 on their three-game road trip. Antti Niemi was replaced by Alex Stalock (five saves) after allowing five goals on 21 shots.

Steen put the Blues ahead during a power play at 10:38 of the first period with a wrist shot from the right faceoff circle and Bouwmeester doubled the lead 4 1/2 minutes later with a low shot from just inside the blue line. Couture got San Jose on the board with 1:33 left in the session, keeping the puck on a 2-on-1 rush and firing a wrist shot that fooled Elliott, but Stastny restored the two-goal lead 39 seconds later with St. Louis' second man-advantage goal of the period.

Karlsson's goal 29 seconds into the middle session trimmed the deficit for a second time, but the Blues roared back on Lehtera's blast at 8:52 and Oshie's conversion of Steen's rebound at 13:20 that chased Niemi. Berglund scored a wraparound goal at 9:05 of the third period and Backes capped the onslaught with just over eight minutes remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Lehtera's goal ended his eight-game drought. ... Steen has registered an assist in a career-best five straight games. ... Oshie has collected six goals and seven assists during his streak.
