Stars 6, Oilers 5 (SO): Shawn Horcoff burned his former team by scoring in both regulation and the eighth round of the shootout as visiting Dallas rallied from a three-goal deficit to post its season-high fourth consecutive victory.

Tyler Seguin tallied twice to increase his NHL-leading total to 25 goals, notched an assist and also converted in the second round of the bonus format with a quick wrist shot over the glove of Ben Scrivens (40 saves). Edmonton's Jordan Eberle answered in the third round and the teams traded tallies in the sixth before Horcoff's wrister beat Scrivens, and Anders Lindback denied Anton Lander to end the marathon.

Captain Jamie Benn scored and set up a goal while former Oiler Erik Cole also tallied for the Stars, who capped a perfect three-game trek through Western Canada with their sixth straight victory in Edmonton. Kari Lehtonen yielded four goals on 19 shots before giving way in the second period to Lindback, who made nine saves.

Taylor Hall scored twice to end a career-high 11-game drought and added an assist for the Oilers, who lost in interim coach Todd Nelson's home debut and have dropped seven in a row (0-5-2) and 18 of their last 19 (1-12-6). Mark Arcobello also tallied twice and Teddy Purcell recorded one goal and two assists as Edmonton scored its most goals since a 6-3 victory over Carolina on Oct. 24.

Arcobello cleaned up a pair of rebounds to chase Lehtonen at 9:19 of the second period and Hall greeted Lindback rudely with his 10th tally four minutes later to give Edmonton a 5-2 lead. Benn scored from a sharp angle during a power play with 21 seconds remaining in the session and Seguin deposited his own rebound past Scrivens 52 seconds into the third before burying a loose puck at 9:13 to forge a tie.

GAME NOTEBOOK: After being held without a goal since the teams' last meeting on Nov. 25, Hall cleaned up a rebound on the power play to give Edmonton a 1-0 lead at 2:58 of the first period before Horcoff poked home a loose puck at 6:36. ... The Oilers own an 0-6-4 mark against Central Division opponents and are 1-16-6 versus the Western Conference overall. ... Dallas LW Ryan Garbutt logged 10:14 of ice time in his first contest since serving a three-game suspension for slew-footing Winnipeg's Dustin Byfuglien on Dec. 9. ... Lander was recalled from Oklahoma City of the American Hockey League earlier on Sunday.
