Rangers 4, Penguins 3 (OT): Defenseman Kevin Klein scored at 3:45 of overtime after receiving stitches to reattach part of his left ear as host New York prevailed despite blowing a late two-goal lead.

Klein, who was initially injured late in the first period, buried a straight-on slap shot for the game-winner and his career-high sixth goal. Rick Nash scored his team-high 18th goal and J.T. Miller and Kevin Hayes also tallied as the Rangers halted a two-game losing streak. Dominic Moore collected a pair of assists and Henrik Lundqvist turned aside 32 shots to earn his 27th victory in 54 starts against Pittsburgh.

Evgeni Malkin and Steve Downie scored 24 seconds apart in the third period while Nick Spaling had one goal and set up another for the Penguins, who fell to 3-1-1 in their last five. Captain Sidney Crosby picked up his league-high 26th assist and Marc-Andre Fleury made 25 saves in defeat.

Crosby set up the opening tally 12 1/2 minutes into the game with a backhand pass to Spaling, who blistered a one-timer from just inside the top of the left circle past the glove of Lundqvist. Miller finished off a 2-on-1 with Martin St. Louis early in the second before a bouncing puck eluded Penguins defenseman Brian Dumoulin to spring Nash, who knocked in his own rebound at 8:40 for his 18th goal and a 2-1 lead.

New York added an insurance tally when Hayes poked his own rebound past Fleury with 7:02 left in the third, but the Penguins struck for two goals 24 seconds apart to tie it. Malkin stuff a shot past Lundqvist on the doorstep off a feed from Brandon Sutter before a trailing Downie knotted it from the right circle, sending a puck through a maze of players with 4:19 to play in regulation.
