Blackhawks 4, Kings 1: Brad Richards scored a pair of goals as visiting Chicago knocked off Los Angeles in their first matchup since last season's Western Conference final.

Daniel Carcillo also tallied and Brandon Saad added an empty-net goal as the Blackhawks finished 5-1-0 on their annual Circus Trip. Corey Crawford, making his 14th consecutive start, turned aside 19 shots and Kris Versteeg collected a pair of assists to help halt the Kings' three-game home winning streak.

Jordan Nolan netted his first goal of the season for Los Angeles, which won Game 7 in overtime at Chicago last postseason en route to its second Stanley Cup title in three years. Jonathan Quick, back in net for the first time in a week, made 21 saves in suffering his first regulation defeat at home since the season opener.

The Blackhawks jumped on top less than two minutes into the game as Carcillo drove to the net and batted home his own rebound out of mid-air before a misplay by Quick allowed Chicago to double the lead with 2:01 left in the session. Quick left the puck behind the net, but Versteeg got there first and fed Richards, who found a tiny opening from a sharp angle.

Defenseman Jake Muzzin stepped in front of a clearing pass along the left-wing boards and tossed a shot at the net that Nolan deflected with the shaft of his stick between the pads of Crawford at 5:53 of the second period, but Chicago restored its two-goal lead 2:21 later as Richards steered home a perfect pass from blue-liner Michal Rozsival,

GAME NOTEBOOK: Versteeg's two assists gave him 150 for his career and boosted his point total to 11 over his last seven games. ... Muzzin notched his 11th point in 11 contests with the assist on Nolan's tally, but RW Justin Williams had his six-game point streak snapped. ... Richards registered his first multi-goal performance since April 8 versus Carolina and has posted back-to-back two-point efforts for the first time this season. ... Kings RW Marian Gaborik was scratched amid conflicting reports that he was ill or injured.
