Rangers 5, Flyers 2: Derick Brassard scored his second goal of the game early in the third period to snap a tie as New York completed a home-and-home sweep by defeating Philadelphia for the 10th consecutive time at Madison Square Garden.

J.T. Miller scored and set up a goal for his first points of the season and fellow fourth-liner Jesper Fast added his first NHL tally and second career assist in the win. Lee Stempniak recorded an empty-net goal, defenseman Kevin Klein set up a pair of tallies and Henrik Lundqvist made 21 saves to improve to 28-13-3 against the Flyers.

Jakub Voracek collected a goal and an assist for his 11th multi-point performance of the season and defenseman Nicklas Grossmann scored for Philadelphia, which has dropped four in a row (0-3-1) and eight of nine (1-7-1). Brayden Schenn notched a pair of assists and Ray Emery turned aside 30 shots to fall to 7-3-0 in his career versus New York.

Kevin Hayes raced up the right wing before sending a centering feed to Brassard, who completed his fourth career two-goal performance by beating Emery over the right shoulder at 3:06 of the third to give the Rangers a 3-2 lead. Miller doubled the advantage midway through the period by breezing past Flyers defenseman Mark Streit and scoring on a wraparound to send New York to its third win in as many meetings with its Metropolitan Division rival this season.

Philadelphia captain Claude Giroux was whistled for a high-sticking double-minor just 60 seconds into the contest and the Rangers converted as Brassard one-timed Rick Nash's centering feed past Emery at 2:50. Grossmann's wrist shot from the right faceoff circle with 6:14 left in the first period gave the Flyers their first goal against New York in 133 minutes, 46 seconds this season and Voracek's one-timer during a power play at 8:45 of the second gave his team the lead before Fast answered less than three minutes later from the right circle.
