Blues 4, Oilers 3 (OT): Vladimir Tarasenko scored at 4:20 of overtime to help host St. Louis maintain its dominance of skidding Edmonton.

T.J. Oshie recorded a goal and two assists while defenseman Alex Pietrangelo scored the tying tally in the third period and assisted on Tarasenko's wicked wrist shot from the high slot as the Blues handed the Oilers their ninth consecutive loss overall (0-6-3) while improving to 15-2-1 in the last 18 meetings between the clubs. Blue-liner Kevin Shatterkirk also scored in the third period, Tarasenko added an assist and Jake Allen made 13 saves for St. Louis.

Ex-Blues David Perron and defenseman Nikita Nikitin scored second-period goals and Mark Arcobello added a go-ahead tally in the third for Edmonton, which remained winless against Western Conference opponents (0-11-3). Taylor Hall notched a pair of assists while Ben Scrivens played superbly in defeat, turning aside 37 shots.

Shattenkirk drew the Blues even 31 seconds into the third period with a wrist shot from the point, but Hall slid a pass into the slot for an oncoming Arcobello, who shot the puck over Allen's blocker just over three minutes later to reclaim the lead for Edmonton. Pietrangelo tied it with 7:35 left in regulation, swooping in from the left side and lifting a rebound into an open net after Scrivens sprawled to deny Oshie in front.

Oshie opened the scoring 11 1/2 minutes into the contest, accepting a drop pass from Tarasenko and blasting a laser from the right faceoff circle into the top left corner of the net. Perron netted the equalizer 5:51 into the middle session before Nikitin gave the Oilers their first lead since Nov. 9 with a redirection in front with 3:14 left in the period.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Martin Brodeur, the winningest goaltender in NHL history, started his tryout session with the Blues at the team's morning skate Friday and, according to coach Ken Hitchcock, "looks good." Brodeur was brought in after starter Brian Elliott suffered a knee injury, and a decision on whether or not he is signed by the team will be made early next week. ... Hall has amassed nine points in five career games in St. Louis. ... Blues D Jay Bouwmeester (lower body) missed his third straight game after playing in 737 consecutive contests.
