Panthers 6, Ducks 2: Nick Bjugstad scored two goals and set up two others as Florida tallied four times in the second period and breezed to victory in the opener of its four-game road trip.

Brad Boyes collected two goals and an assist and Jonathan Huberdeau added one of each for the Panthers, who set a season high for tallies in a game after entering the contest with an NHL-low 27. Vincent Trocheck scored to extend his point streak to four games and Al Montoya finished with 33 saves as Florida snapped a three-game road winless skid (0-1-2).

Defenseman Hampus Lindholm and Andrew Cogliano each scored a goal and Emerson Etem notched two assists for the Ducks, who have dropped five of their last six contests (1-1-4). Jason LaBarbera (12 saves) relieved Frederik Andersen (11 saves) early in the second period before the latter returned to start the third.

With the score tied at 1-1, Huberdeau's slap pass from the slot caromed off the left skate of Boyes and into the net at 1:23 of the second period. Bjugstad scored from in close to chase Andersen under three minutes later, Huberdeau deflected rookie blue-liner Aaron Ekblad's shot past LaBarbera midway through the session before Boyes' power-play goal staked Florida to a 5-1 lead.

Bjugstad's quick wrist shot from the edge of the left circle at 4:55 of the third period capped his four-point performance. The former first-round pick entered the contest with two goals and an assist in 14 games this season.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Anaheim RWs Corey Perry and Kyle Palmieri were activated from injured reserve and returned to the lineup. Perry had missed five games with the mumps while Palmieri made his season debut after being out with a high-ankle sprain. ... Ekblad, who was the top overall pick of the 2014 draft, has recorded eight points (two goals, six assists) in his last seven games and Huberdeau's goal was his first since the season opener versus Tampa Bay. ... Ducks D Josh Manson notched an assist for his first career point.
