Lightning 5, Islanders 2: Valtteri Filppula and Ryan Callahan each recorded a goal and an assist as Tampa Bay ended visiting New York’s five-game winning streak.

Cedric Paquette, Tyler Johnson and defenseman Radko Gudas also tallied as the Lightning improved to 7-2-1 on home ice. Blue-liner Jason Garrison notched a pair of assists and Ben Bishop turned aside 25 shots to win his 10th game in 14 starts (10-2-2) for Tampa Bay.

Josh Bailey and Brock Nelson each tallied for the Islanders, who had allowed six goals total during their five-game winning streak. Backup Chad Johnson made 23 saves for New York, losing for the second time in six starts.

Nelson swung into the slot to beat Bishop glove side 7:41 into the contest before Callahan tied it 60 seconds later, knocking home a rebound from the right circle. Bailey redirected a feed from defenseman Johnny Boychuk past Bishop at 11:22, but Filppula scored from just above the end line to the right of the goal on the power play 2:24 later.

Paquette ended a wild first period when his shot from the slot off a rebound went in off the skate of Islanders forward Cory Conacher at 15:29. Johnson doubled the lead with a wrist shot from the right circle off a feed from Ondrej Palat 1:39 into the second and Gudas scored his first of the season with 4:26 to go in the contest.
