Stars 4, Coyotes 3: Ryan Garbutt capped a frenzied finish by scoring on a short-handed breakaway with 76 seconds left in the third period as visiting Dallas halted its seven-game winless drought.

Tyler Seguin followed up a hat trick in his last game with a pair of goals 57 seconds apart in the second period and Erik Cole tallied with 4:41 remaining in the third to provide a brief lead for the Stars, who notched their first victory since a shootout win at New Jersey on Oct. 24. Kari Lehtonen turned aside 34 shots to end his five-start drought (0-3-2).

Mikkel Boedker answered Cole's tally with one of his own 58 seconds later to tie it at 3-3 with 3:43 remaining for Phoenix, which dropped its second in a row following a three-game winning streak. Defenseman Connor Murphy and Joe Vitale also scored while Mike Smith made 28 saves for the Coyotes, who squandered a 2-0 lead.

Murphy ended an 11-game point drought 1:42 into the contest, connecting on a wrist shot from the point through a crowd, but Arizona was unable to build on the lead despite having a 17-6 advantage in shots during the opening period. Vitale made it 2-0 just past the midway point of the middle session, snapping a shot over Lehtonen's right shoulder before Seguin rallied the Stars.

Following extended pressure by Dallas, Seguin collected a rebound at the bottom of the left faceoff circle and fired it into an open net with 2:01 left in the period. Seguin knotted it from nearly the same spot 57 seconds later, accepting a cross-crease pass from Jason Spezza before lining up a slap shot that easily beat Smith.
