Jets 3, Predators 1: Captain Andrew Ladd and Mark Scheifele had first-period power-play goals to lift host Winnipeg to its third straight victory.

Blake Wheeler added an empty-net tally and an assist for the Jets, who have surrendered just six goals during a six-game point streak (5-0-1). Evander Kane had an assist for his first point of the season while Ondrej Pavelec made 23 saves.

Rookie standout Filip Forsberg had the lone goal for Nashville, which fell to 2-2-0 on its six-game road swing. Captain Shea Weber and Mike Ribeiro assisted on Forsberg's goal while Carter Hutton stopped 23 shots in defeat.

Ladd kicked off the scoring at 2:53, redirecting Dustin Byfuglien's shot past Hutton. Scheifele doubled the advantage just over 2 1/2 minutes later, gathering a Wheeler pass before skating to the top of the left circle and whipping a wrist shot that beat Hutton just inside the right post.

Forsberg continued his hot play with the lone goal of the second period, firing a shot that snuck past Pavelec just as a Nashville power play expired to end the Jets' shutout streak at 161 minutes, 17 seconds. Pavelec held on from there - fending off a late Nashville power-play - and Wheeler iced things with 1:40 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Forsberg leads all rookies with 12 points (four goals, eight assists) in 12 games. ... The Jets extinguished all four Nashville man-advantage opportunities and have successfully killed off 13 straight opposition power plays ... The teams nearly fought to a draw in the faceoff circle, with the Jets enjoying a 36-35 edge. ... Nashville coach Peter Laviolette was hit in the face by a puck during the first period after it deflected off the glove of Winnipeg defenseman Jacob Trouba.
