Oilers 3, Canadiens 0: Benoit Pouliot registered a goal and an assist while Ben Scrivens posted his seventh career shutout as host Edmonton extended its winning streak to four games.

Nail Yakupov and Taylor Hall also scored for the Oilers, who improved to 4-1-0 on their season-high seven-game homestand. Scrivens made 12 of his 29 saves in the third period for Edmonton, which has recorded four straight victories for the first time since capturing five in a row from March 26-April 3, 2013.

Dustin Tokarski turned aside 16 shots for the Canadiens, who had their four-game winning streak snapped. Montreal had allowed just one goal in each of its previous two contests.

Pouliot gave Edmonton a lead with 19 seconds remaining in the first period. Mark Arcobello chased down a loose puck after Montreal defenseman Andrei Markov fell at the left point while attempting to keep it in the offensive zone and made a lead pass to Pouliot, who slipped a backhander past Tokarski after sneaking behind two defenders.

The Oilers doubled the advantage 6 1/2 minutes into the second as Pouliot grabbed the puck near the left post after a long-range shot went wide and dished it across the crease to Yakupov for an easy tap-in. Hall sealed the win by depositing the puck into an empty net with 2:18 remaining in the third.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Tokarski received the start instead of Carey Price, who is 1-5-1 with a 3.71 goals-against average in seven career games against Edmonton. ... Edmonton has earned at least one point in 16 of its last 20 meetings with Montreal (13-4-3).
