Ducks 2, Wild 1: Corey Perry's fifth goal in five games with 8:25 remaining in the third period stood as the game-winner as Anaheim prevailed in its home opener and halted Darcy Kuemper's quest for a third straight shutout.

Andrew Cogliano also scored for the Ducks, who have won four of five to open the season. Frederik Andersen turned aside 27 shots to earn his 10th victory in a row dating back to the end of last season.

Jason Zucker netted the lone goal for the Wild, who opened their campaign with back-to-back shutout victories over the Colorado Avalanche. Kuemper, who finished with 24 saves, extended his season-opening shutout streak to 163 minutes, 46 seconds before allowing Cogliano's short-handed goal.

After a scoreless opening period in which the teams finished with nine shots apiece, Minnesota took advantage of a defensive miscue by Anaheim to surge in front 2:08 into the middle session. Former Wild blue-liner Clayton Stoner stumbled while skating backward, allowing Zucker to blow past him and charge to the net before unleashing a wrist shot that beat Andersen low to the glove side.

Anaheim finally solved Kuemper just over four minutes into the third period, as Cogliano burst in alone from the blue line and fired a backhander that beat the Wild netminder to the glove side. Anaheim kept the pressure on and was rewarded with the go-ahead goal at 11:35, as Perry slid a loose puck past Kuemper after his initial shot was stopped.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cogliano's short-handed goal was the ninth of his career and sixth with Anaheim. ... Minnesota went 0-for-3 with the man advantage and is 0-for-11 to start the season. ... Wild D Keith Ballard made his first appearance of the season, finishing with an assist and two penalty minutes in 7:08 of action.
