Ducks 4, Kings 3: Devante Smith-Pelly recorded his second two-goal performance of the postseason as host Anaheim held on to take a 3-2 lead in its Western Conference second-round series.

Nick Bonino and Jakob Silfverberg also scored for the Pacific Division-champion Ducks, who will attempt to close out the series at Los Angeles on Wednesday. Rookie John Gibson turned aside 39 shots to post his second consecutive victory and improve to 5-0-0 in his brief NHL career.

Marian Gaborik registered his third two-goal effort of the playoffs and Trevor Lewis also tallied for the Kings, who have lost three straight after winning the first two games of the series on the road. Jonathan Quick made 20 saves as Los Angeles became the first road team to lose in the matchup.

Anaheim struck early as Bonino beat Quick from the right faceoff circle following a turnover 2:15 into the contest. Lewis forged a tie at 9:12 as his shot from the right circle glanced off Ducks defenseman Bryan Allen and inside the right post, but Mathieu Perreault's shot deflected off Smith-Pelly and past Quick during a power play 1:11 into the second period to put Anaheim back in front.

Smith-Pelly completed his second two-goal performance of the postseason 83 seconds later with a backhander during a short breakaway and Silfverberg buried a rebound on the doorstep at 8:23 to make it 4-1. Gaborik beat Gibson from the bottom of the slot during a power play with 1:18 left in the session and redirected captain Dustin Brown's backhander from the blue line at 14:12 of the third for his league-leading eighth goal, but the Kings were unable to get the equalizer.
