Ducks 6, Stars 2: Captain Ryan Getzlaf returned from a one-game absence due to an upper-body injury and matched Corey Perry with a goal and two assists as host Anaheim took a 3-2 lead in its Western Conference first-round series.

Mathieu Perreault scored and set up a goal while Nick Bonino, Rickard Rakell and Jakob Silfverberg also tallied for the Pacific Division-champion Ducks, who went 4-for-6 on the power play. Rookie Frederik Andersen made 34 saves as Anaheim scored on three of its four shots in the third period.

Captain Jamie Benn pulled even with St. Louis' Vladimir Tarasenko for the league lead with his fourth playoff goal and Shawn Horcoff also scored for the Stars, who look to avoid elimination when they host Game 6 on Sunday. Kari Lehtonen allowed five goals on 21 shots before being replaced by Tim Thomas, who stopped one of the two shots he faced.

Bonino opened the scoring at 5:32 of the first with a shot from the right faceoff circle during a power play. Dallas answered midway through the period, when Benn stole the puck from Getzlaf and slipped a backhander between Andersen's pads while short-handed, but Rakell deflected defenseman Francois Beauchemin's one-timer from the right point 26 seconds later to restore Anaheim's lead.

Perreault converted a feed from Getzlaf during a man advantage 65 seconds into the middle session and Horcoff tallied from the doorstep at 8:19 to pull the Stars within one before the Ducks erupted for three goals in a 5:42 span early in the third to regain control. Silfverberg began the outburst at 1:07 and Perry set up Getzlaf at 4:30 before netting a power-play goal 2:19 later.
