Blackhawks 5, Blues 1: Defenseman Duncan Keith collected a goal and three assists as Chicago scored four times in the third period to win its fourth consecutive game and advance to the second round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Andrew Shaw scored and set up a goal while captain Jonathan Toews, Patrick Sharp and Bryan Bickell also tallied for the defending Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks, who captured the series in six games and await the winner of the Colorado-Minnesota matchup in the next round. Corey Crawford made 35 saves and defenseman Brent Seabrook notched two assists in his first contest since serving a three-game suspension for his illegal hit on St. Louis captain David Backes.

T.J. Oshie scored in his second straight contest for the Blues, who saw history repeat itself by losing four consecutive games after taking a 2-0 series lead. St. Louis also dropped four straight to Los Angeles in its first-round series in 2013.

After killing off all six of the Blues' power-play opportunities, Chicago seized a 2-1 advantage 44 seconds into the third period. Keith prevented a clearing attempt and wired a diagonal pass into the right faceoff circle for Toews, who skated toward the slot and used Shaw as a screen before beating Ryan Miller (22 saves) with a wrist shot for a man-advantage tally.

Sharp doubled the lead 77 seconds later with a brilliant individual effort. Kevin Shattenkirk's shot was blocked to set up a breakaway for Sharp, who fended off the Blues defenseman before beating Miller for his first point of the series. Keith's blast from the point was deflected by Shaw at 7:30 to provide a three-goal cushion before the duo reversed roles on Keith's tap-in to cap the scoring with 2:55 left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Chicago has struggled against both the Avalanche and Wild this season. Colorado posted a 4-1-0 mark versus the Blackhawks, while the Wild pieced together a 3-1-1 record. ... Bickell opened the scoring 4:12 into the first period as he extended his stick to deftly deflect Seabrook's shot from the point. Oshie countered with 3:32 left in the session, powering home LW Alex Steen's centering feed from the doorstep. ... St. Louis recorded 11 shots on goal during its six power-play opportunities through two periods. Chicago had 11 total shots on goal after 40 minutes.
