Penguins 4, Blue Jackets 3: Jussi Jokinen scored the go-ahead goal 8:06 into the third period as visiting Pittsburgh overcame a two-goal deficit for the second time in three contests to seize a 2-1 advantage in its Eastern Conference first-round series.

Brandon Sutter and Lee Stempniak also tallied as the Penguins scored on three consecutive shots in a span of 2 minutes, 13 seconds to stun Columbus. Brooks Orpik tallied with 1.8 seconds remaining in the middle period and fellow defenseman Paul Martin notched two assists for the third straight game of the series.

Blue-liner Jack Johnson scored for the third consecutive contest while rookie Boone Jenner and Cam Atkinson also tallied for the Blue Jackets, who won Game 2 after overcoming a 3-1 deficit. Columbus hosts Game 4 on Wednesday.

The Blue Jackets grabbed a 3-1 lead just 64 seconds into the third as Ryan Johansen's backhanded bid caromed off Atkinson and past Marc-Andre Fleury (17 saves). Pittsburgh answered in short order as Sutter deflected Martin's shot from the point at 5:53 before Stempniak beat Sergei Bobrovsky (37 saves) from the right faceoff circle 70 seconds later to forge a tie. Maatta's shot from the point was deflected by Jokinen before it caromed in off Columbus defenseman James Wisniewski, who was battling James Neal on the doorstep.

The Blue Jackets bolted out of the blocks in a hurry, scoring two goals on their first three shots. Jack Skille's bid from the right circle was denied by Fleury before Jenner tucked the puck between the netminder's pads 98 seconds into the contest to open the scoring. Columbus doubled the advantage 1:40 later as Fleury fumbled the puck after Brandon Dubinsky's shot from behind the end line, allowing Johnson to convert from the doorstep.
