Coyotes 2, Stars 1: David Moss snapped a tie with 2:31 remaining in the third period as host Phoenix concluded its season by halting a seven-game winless streak (0-4-3).

Captain Shane Doan also scored and Thomas Greiss turned aside 16 shots for the Coyotes, who posted their first home win since March 20.

Colton Sceviour netted a power-play goal for Dallas, which opens its first-round playoff series at Pacific Division champion Anaheim on Wednesday. Tim Thomas finished with 29 saves as the Stars were limited to eight shots over the first two periods.

Dallas was outshot 12-5 in the first but ended the period with a 1-0 lead. Vernon Fiddler made a no-look backhand pass from along the right-wing boards to Sceviour, who took the puck from the right faceoff circle to the front of the net before lifting a backhander past Greiss at 2:35 for his eighth of the season.

The Coyotes knotted it early in the second as Doan tipped defenseman Zbynek Michalek's blast from the blue line past Thomas 31 seconds into the session. Moss put Phoenix ahead by taking a short pass by Martin Erat and firing the puck past Thomas from the left circle.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Stars rested captain Jamie Benn and defenseman Trevor Daley as the game had no impact on their playoff position. ... Dallas Ds Aaron Rome and Kevin Connauton were in the lineup for the first time since March 29 and 25, respectively. ... The Coyotes went 1-2-0 against Dallas this season, scoring a total of four goals.
