Predators 7, Wild 3: Craig Smith collected two goals and two assists as visiting Nashville scored four times in the second period to finish its season on a 9-1-2 run.

Rookie Calle Jarnkrok recorded a goal and two assists while defensemen Ryan Ellis and Roman Josi both notched one of each. Captain Shea Weber tallied for the second consecutive contest and Richard Clune also scored to stake Carter Hutton, who made 26 saves as the Predators snapped a three-game winless skid versus Minnesota.

Jason Pominville scored his team-leading 30th goal and added two assists for the Wild, who suffered their first regulation loss in eight games (6-1-1) and will visit Central Division champion Colorado for Game 1 of their first-round series on Thursday. Rookie Erik Haula scored and set up a goal while Zach Parise tallied on the power play, but Ilya Bryzgalov surrendered five goals on 21 shots before being relieved by John Curry (10 saves) to start the third period.

After Parise gave Minnesota 3-1 lead early in the second period, Ellis and Weber tallied 85 seconds apart with blasts from just inside the blue line. Josi gave Nashville its first lead 35 seconds later with a one-timer from the top of the left faceoff circle before Smith extended his goal-scoring streak to three games by deflecting a point shot at 14:53.

Haula breezed up the right wing before backhanding a shot that handcuffed Hutton. The puck squirted loose and Haula extended his stick to tap it home at 5:13 of the first period. Pominville recorded the third 30-goal season of his career by directing Haula's shot-pass into the net seven minutes later.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Haula has collected points in three straight games and six of his last seven. ... Bryzgalov entered the game having stopped 59-of-60 shots in his last three starts versus Nashville. ... Wild LW Mike Rupp served the first contest of his four-game suspension following his illegal check to the head of St. Louis' T.J. Oshie.
