Blackhawks 3, Canadiens 2 (OT): Patrick Sharp scored 43 seconds into overtime as host Chicago stunned Montreal.

Sharp's shot from the slot handcuffed Peter Budaj before sneaking past him, capping a stunning turn of events en route to the Blackhawks' first overtime win of the season. Marian Hossa tied the game in the final minute of regulation while Jeremy Morin netted a third-period goal as Chicago climbed within two points of second-place Colorado in the Central Division, although the Avalanche have a game in hand.

Dale Weise and defenseman Francis Bouillon scored for the Canadiens, who lead Tampa Bay by three points in the race for second in the Atlantic Division. The Lightning have a game in hand.

Chicago forced overtime in dramatic fashion, drawing even with 47.7 seconds remaining in the third as Hossa tapped home Sharp's centering pass from point-blank range. Montreal had a chance for the win in the waning moments of regulation, but Corey Crawford sprawled out to stop a well-placed shot by Max Pacioretty following a slick pass from Thomas Vanek.

Weise ended a scoreless deadlock 7:31 into the third period, tapping the puck past a prone Crawford after blue-liner Josh Gorges' initial shot caromed off Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook. Morin evened it at 10:34 with a snap shot from the left faceoff dot that beat Budaj low to the stick side, but Bouillon restored Montreal's lead just 22 seconds later, firing a shot from the blue line that eluded Crawford's outstretched blocker.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Canadiens C Alex Galchenyuk left in the first period with a lower-body injury and did not return. ... Montreal finished with a 24-7 advantage in blocked shots. ... Morin has recorded three goals and two assists during his four-game point streak.
