Lightning 4, Sabres 3 (OT): Captain Steven Stamkos scored his second goal of the night during a power play at 1:53 of overtime and added an assist as visiting Tampa Bay extended its point streak to 11 games (7-0-4).

Alex Killorn and Ryan Callahan also tallied while Teddy Purcell set up a pair of goals for the Lightning, who remained two points behind Montreal for second place in the Atlantic Division with two games in hand. Ben Bishop turned aside 26 shots for his 36th victory after Stamkos’ blast from the right faceoff circle won it.

Matt D’Agostini, Cody Hodgson and Cory Conacher scored for the Sabres, who lost for the 11th time in 12 contests. Matt Hackett finished with 29 saves for Buffalo, which went 0-for-3 on the power play while yielding two man-advantage goals.

D’Agostini beat Bishop with a rising shot from the slot 12:20 into the game to open the scoring and Hodgson deflected home defenseman Christian Ehrhoff's shot 1:47 later for a 2-0 lead. Killorn scored from the left circle after a nifty pass from Nikita Kucherov at 17:52 and J.T. Brown set up Stamkos for the tying goal with 14 seconds left in the first.

The Sabres took the lead 8:14 into the third period on a goal credited to Conacher when Stamkos’ pass to the point during a delayed penalty bounded off the boards and into the empty net. The Lightning tied it 1:53 later during a 5-on-3 advantage as Callahan stood above the crease to redirect a short feed from Purcell.
