Senators 5, Blackhawks 3: Clarke MacArthur scored a goal and set up two others while Craig Anderson turned aside 46 shots in his return from an undisclosed injury as Ottawa snapped a five-game home winless streak (0-4-1).

Kyle Turris recorded a power-play goal and Erik Condra netted a short-handed tally for the Senators, who posted just their fourth victory in 15 games (4-8-3) to move within six points of the two wild-card spots in the Eastern Conference. Rookie defenseman Cody Ceci and Milan Michalek also tallied while Mark Stone notched two assists.

Patrick Sharp scored a power-play goal, defenseman Brent Seabrook added a short-handed tally and former Senator Marian Hossa also scored for the Blackhawks. Antti Raanta made 24 saves as Chicago fell to 1-5-1 in their last seven road games and again failed to clinch a playoff berth.

After Hossa made a strong move to the net late in the second period to bring Chicago within 3-2, Turris gave Ottawa some breathing room six minutes into the third. Turris cleaned up a loose puck on the doorstep before MacArthur scored on a breakaway to give the Senators their second three-goal lead of the contest.

Condra accepted a feed from Zack Smith and cut into the slot before wristing a shot past Raanta midway through the first to open the scoring. Ceci doubled the advantage with 30 seconds left in the session as his shot from the point deflected off the stick of Matt Carey and past Raanta before Michalek tapped the puck home at the left post just 23 seconds into the second.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Anderson missed five games with his injury before serving as G Robin Lehner's backup the last two contests. ... Senators D Erik Karlsson saw his eight-game point streak come to an end. ... Ottawa coach Paul MacLean revealed that RW Bobby Ryan underwent successful surgery to repair a sports hernia.
