Blackhawks 4, Stars 2: Andrew Shaw and defenseman Duncan Keith each recorded a goal and an assist as host Chicago put a dent in Dallas' postseason hopes.

Kris Versteeg and Marian Hossa also tallied while Patrick Sharp notched a pair of assists for the Blackhawks, who completed a 3-1-0 homestand and remained six points behind first-place St. Louis in the Central Division and three ahead of third-place Colorado. Corey Crawford made 25 saves as Chicago outshot Dallas 42-27.

Ryan Garbutt scored both goals for the Stars, who fell three points behind Phoenix for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference. Kari Lehtonen turned aside 38 shots as the Stars finished 1-3-1 against Chicago this season.

Shaw got Chicago on the board during a power play with 18 seconds remaining in the first period, grabbing the rebound of Sharp's one-timer from the blue line and sliding a backhander inside the left post from the doorstep while on one knee. Versteeg doubled the lead 4:12 into the second as he pounced on a turnover and made a pass attempt from the top of the right faceoff circle that deflected off a defender's stick and past Lehtonen.

Garbutt halved the deficit when he took a pass off the left-wing boards and drove to the net before beating Crawford with a backhander midway through the period, but Keith beat Lehtonen with a rising blast from the left point less than four minutes later to restore the two-goal advantage. Garbutt banked his second attempt at the right post off Crawford and in with 5:40 left in the third to close the gap before Hossa scored into an empty net in the final minute to ice it.
