Blues 4, Predators 1: Patrik Berglund scored a pair of goals and visiting St. Louis remained unbeaten in regulation against Central Division opponents (19-0-2).

Alexander Steen scored his 30th goal to become part of the third father-son combination to net 30 apiece and Vladimir Tarasenko also tallied as the Blues improved to 7-0-1 in their last eight to remain atop the Presidents' Trophy race. Ryan Miller turned aside 30 saves to boost his record to 6-0-1 since joining St. Louis via trade from Buffalo.

Eric Nystrom scored the lone goal for Nashville, which had its three-game winning streak halted and absorbed its fifth loss in as many meetings with the Blues this season. Pekka Rinne made 22 saves in defeat.

Berglund opened the scoring 11 1/2 minutes into the contest, intercepting a pass and cutting to the left circle before beating Rinne. Berglund doubled the lead two minutes into the second period by finishing off a 2-on-1 with a wrist shot between the pads of Rinne.

Tarasenko extended the lead just over five minutes later when he pounced on his own errant shot off the end boards and stuffed it into the left corner. Nyquist got the Predators on the board with 3:10 left in the middle session when he cleaned up a rebound of Colton Sissons' wraparound attempt, but Steen restored the three-goal cushion with his milestone tally on a one-timer at 8:05 of the third.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Steen and his father Thomas joined Bobby and Brett Hull and Ken Hodge and Ken Hodge Jr. as the only father-son tandems in league history to each reach 30 goals. Steen also became the first St. Louis player to score 30 since captain David Backes in 2010-11. ... Nashville suffered its fifth straight defeat at home and has scored only four goals in the process. ... Berglund has scored six goals in the past eight games to reach 14 on the season.
