Wild 3, Flames 2: Defenseman Jared Spurgeon scored a power-play goal 5:49 into the third period to snap a tie and host Minnesota held on to extend its winning streak to a season-high five games.

Kyle Brodziak and Zach Parise also tallied for the Wild, who improved to 5-0-1 in their last six contests. Mikael Granlund notched a pair of assists and Darcy Kuemper turned aside 21 shots.

Mike Cammalleri and captain Mark Giordano scored for the Flames, who have failed to record more than two goals in five of their last six games. Reto Berra finished with 24 saves.

After a scoreless first period, Minnesota got on the board nine minutes into the second as Berra turned over the puck behind his own net and Brodziak fired it into the vacant cage. Calgary pulled even with 3:19 remaining in the session as defenseman Dennis Wideman's shot from the right point deflected right to Cammalleri, who buried a shot from the left faceoff circle for his 14th goal.

The Wild took advantage of a hooking penalty on Giordano early in the third as Spurgeon beat a screened Berra from the top of the slot for the go-ahead tally. Parise added a much-needed insurance goal with 5:16 to play as Giordano beat Kuemper from the left circle 77 seconds later.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cammalleri's goal was his first since Jan. 6, ending a nine-game drought. ... Flames RW David Jones suffered an upper-body injury in the second period and did not return. ...
