Bruins 4, Oilers 0: Chad Johnson turned aside 22 shots to record his first shutout of the season and Carl Soderberg registered a goal and an assist as host Boston skated to its 12th consecutive victory over Edmonton.

Defenseman Dougie Hamilton scored for the second consecutive game while David Krejci and blue-liner Torey Krug added power-play tallies as the Bruins improved to 5-1-0 in their last six contests. Jarome Iginla and captain Zdeno Chara each notched two assists to help end the Oilers' winning streak at three games.

Johnson denied Ales Hemsky on a breakaway in the first period before turning aside 10 shots in each of the final two sessions en route to his second career shutout. The 27-year-old Johnson made 21 saves for Phoenix in a 4-0 victory over Nashville on Jan. 28, 2013.

Boston drew first blood 2:06 into the second period as Iginla set up Krejci for a one-timer from the high slot. Krejci's blast deflected off the stick of Edmonton's Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and into the net to end a span of 102 consecutive saves by Ben Scrivens, who stopped 37 shots.

Hamilton scored 6:43 into the third as he followed his own rebound and sent his wraparound bid off the right skate of Scrivens and into the net. Soderberg beat the netminder over the glove from the left faceoff circle at 13:05 before Krug pinched in and capped the scoring 2 1/2 minutes later.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Bruins nearly seized a 2-0 advantage in the second period when D Matt Bartkowski's centering feed from the left circle caromed off the right skate of LW Loui Eriksson and into the net. Officials reviewed the play and disallowed the goal, citing a distinct kicking motion. ... Edmonton captain Andrew Ference received a round of applause after taking the ice for his first shift. Ference played with the Bruins from 2007-13. ... Oilers LW Taylor Hall saw his six-game point streak come to an end. He collected one goal and eight assists in the stretch.
