Blackhawks 5, Canucks 2: Marian Hossa began a four-goal outburst in the second period with a power-play tally as visiting Chicago rallied to halt its four-game winless streak.

Brandon Saad recorded two goals and an assist while Hossa joined captain Jonathan Toews and Patrick Sharp with one of each for the Blackhawks, who are 1-1-0 on their seven-game road trip. Corey Crawford turned aside 29 shots as coach Joel Quenneville snapped a tie with Dick Irvin for third place on the all-time list with his 693rd regular-season victory.

Chris Higgins and Tom Sestito scored for the Canucks, who completed a 1-3-0 homestand. Roberto Luongo made 35 saves as Vancouver dropped to 2-3-0 without suspended coach John Tortorella.

The Canucks got on the board before many of the fans were settled in their seats as Higgins deflected Ryan Kesler's backhand shot from the top of the slot past Crawford 16 seconds into the contest. Sestito scored from the low slot 2:44 into the second session to double the lead before Hossa started Chicago's surge by completing a nifty tic-tac-toe passing play from the right side of the net at 6:30.

Saad forged a tie at 9:39 by deflecting defenseman Sheldon Brookbank's one-timer from the right point and Toews put the Blackhawks ahead 68 seconds later, knocking the puck past Luongo after blue-liner Brent Seabrook threw it into the crease from the right corner. Sharp beat the netminder with a shot from the top of the left faceoff circle with 5:49 left in the second and Saad capped the string of five unanswered goals with an empty-netter during a power play in the final minute of the third.
